First off, I am an experienced dog handler of Shepherds and Dobermans. E-Collars get a bad rap because people don't know how to use them properly. It is VERY important that anyone using this or any device like it understand that it is NOT meant to be a punishment or an alternative to proper training. It is a communication tool. You issue the command, if they don't honor it, you issue the command again in combo with the stimulus from the collar. You might elect to wait til the third try at the command to issue the stimulus and work your way down to the 2nd try depending on your dog, the situation, etc. High drive working breed dogs like mine sometimes need a reminder that I'm talking to them. Its a nudge, an incentive to honor commands the first time on behaviors they've already been taught. Start at the lowest setting and work your way up just until you find that sweet spot. Its likely lower than you think you'll need. Do NOT use this as a punishment for things you haven't taught them yet. Thats what reward/treats are for. Put the time in to train your dog with positive reinforcements for the desired behavior. Use this device to remind/reinforce behaviors they've already been taught. I work from home and a house full of large breed dogs can really mess up a zoom meeting so these were acquired simply to control barking and general disruptive behavior that might otherwise force me away from my desk. This device is way better than standard bark collars as you control the stimulus and if you have multiple dogs at home or in your neighborhood, any bark collar that responds to sound will be going off constantly on the dog wearing it regardless of who is barking or if the unit hears something resembling a bark. Thats cruel. I do own some of the much higher priced E-Collars which work well for off leash, hiking, public settings, etc. but can be confusing for many folks. I purchased these specifically for use at home/on my property as they were simpler for my 13yr old daughter to use and I wasn't as concerned w/battery life, wear and tear, added features, etc. at home. I am very pleased with these units. I initially purchased one and quickly got more for all my dogs. I elected to get full 2 piece sets for each dog instead of multiple collars on one hand held unit because the switching back and forth between collars can lose important seconds when correcting a dog. It was easier for me for each dog to have their own set of a different color. Theyre all lined up on my desk while I'm working making rapid correction of the offending party easy. They were inexpensive, VERY easy to program and use, battery life for me lasts up to a week. Just 3 buttons (Beep, Vibrate, electro-stimulous). I only use the vibrate and beep options which is enough. As with most e-collar training, once the dog knows the consequence of not minding a command, they quickly mind the command the first time. They understand what the collar is and behave better simply by wearing it or seeing you reach for it. My house is MUCH quieter. Thank you.

Easy to use, effective training aid. All modes work well and stimulation and vibration are adjustable, while the beep mode can be set to different tones. As an experienced dog owner who has trained many dogs in my life, I highly recommend this training collar. In January my best trained dog that never really even needed a leash and would respond to voice commands or hand signals died. I went to the animal shelter and adopted an 18-month-old highly energetic dog (pointer mix). She was dragging the attendant down the hall when they brought her out for me to meet her. I started my usual training with leash and choke chain and had her walking beside me within the first 2 days. At the time she hadn't learned to respond to her new name (she didn't respond to the name the animal shelter gave her either). and so, I ordered a 20-foot leash and this e-collar. In my training I decided to use the beep mode strictly for recall. So, as I was training her to "come" I would stand at the end of the long training lead and say, "Duchess, come" and at the same time hit the beep button while pulling her to me with the training lead. In just a short time she had learned the commands both "come" and beep. Now whenever I hit the beep button she immediately comes to me. This works in every situation I have tried it, including in the midst of a bunch of dogs at the dog park, even if she is 100 yards away. This is much better than having to loudly call her name! The vibration and shock modes have been used for other training reinforcement. Now when we are walking on leash and she needs a correction I will use the vibration. There have been a few situations where I have had to get her attention with the shock mode, but not very often. I walked her through colonial Williamsburg and the downtown area this past week and she did very well staying beside me without pulling. I used the vibrate mode a couple of times and the shock mode once to get her attention when she was distracted by other dogs. Be sure to use this as a training aid to reinforce commands that you have already taught, or, as explained in my 2nd paragraph above, in conjunction with other commands so the dog will not be confused, but understand what you expect. Above all, in your training remain calm and be consistent with your training and commands. UPDATE: I had originally posted that the collar stopped working after my dog went swimming in a creek. It would turn on but none of the modes would work. I contacted Jugbow support and got this reply: "I suspect the receiver and transmitter haven't been paired successfully. Here are the pairing steps for the collar: While the receiver is in off mode, long-press the power button for 5 seconds. The indicator light on the receiver will start flashing. Select an appropriate channel on the transmitter, then press any button labeled "Sound", "Vibration", or "Shock". The receiver will beep, indicating a successful pairing." I followed those instructions and the collar is working just as it is supposed to! Duchess still has a way to go in order to be as well trained as my previous dog. But she's getting there!

I'm really impress with the quality of both the transmitter and receiver. The transmitter has auto shutoff when the buttons are locked. The receiver (collar) has and on/off button which is really nice to help conserve the battery when not in use. Easy set up and features two channels so you could potentially add a second collar and control both using the single remote control. I also like the small design of the receiver on the collar, much nicer than my previous model from a few years ago. My dog responds very well to the beep so I don't have to use the the other features but they work, I tried them on myself before putting it on my dog. It comes with a couple of extra prongs for the collar as well as some rubber buttons to go over them to prevent accidental shock and irritation.
