I bought this after reading someone on an EV website, saying that they had used this (modified it slightly) to fit into the charge port area of their EV, so they could see the connector more easily when charging at night in dark areas. I bought this for that reason, to add some light to the charge port of my Chevy Bolt (it has no lighting at the charge port! Come on, Chevy!) This device is cheap because it is actually quite simple: the fatter part with the power button has LEDs at each end, it also holds the power source, a small rechargeable battery, charged via a USB C port). The ring, or collar, is a clear and flexible plastic that can easily be trimmed to the length desired. So I did cut a few inches off of the 'collar' portion so it would fit properly within the charge port of my car. Now when I charge at nighttime in a dark area, I open my charge port door, press the power button on this collar, and it emits a nice 'ring' light to make connecting the DC fast charger to my car, easier to see. Works great for that purpose, and the color is a soothing, almost eerie color, but looks really nice. What I don't like is that when you first hit the power button, the LEDs (both inside the thick portion along with the power button and battery), the collar flashes slowly. Press the button again, and the 2 LEDs flash quickly. Press the power button a 3rd time and the LEDs stay on, no more flashing. So the falshing is of no use to me, but it is just a brief annoyance to press the button 3 times to get the steady, soft light. Though meant as a easy-to-see dog collar at night, it has served the purpose of lighting my Bolt's charge port at night, and cheaply. And remember, that it has a built-in rechargable battery that is charged using USB C, so you'll never have to buy batteries for it! Recommended. Oh, and as a dog collar? This LED dog collar is such a great safety upgrade. The light is very bright and makes my dog easy to see during evening and early morning walks. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and doesn’t bother my dog at all. I love that it has different lighting modes and charges easily. The quality feels solid, and it gives me real peace of mind when we’re out in low light. I highly recommend it for anyone who walks their dog after dark.super functional and great value for the money !

After a serious human hip injury from tripping over our blind and almost deaf black lab during the night, we knew we needed to do something to make her easy to see. This new necklace for Maggie has been the perfect thing!! It’s definitely bright enough that we can’t miss her and we’ve gotten used to our new pink nightlight. It lasts all night and we charge it during the day. It’s light enough that she has never tried to take it off or seemed bothered by it and I was able to easily get it the right size. We know that it’s helped us see here when otherwise we would have completely tripped and I’m so thankful she’s wearing it!

Very simplistic, easy to size & use. Charging is easy and last a long time. My dog prefers this collar over the other one I have. I slip it over her head at dusk and when she hears the call of nature at night I press on. Not meant as a coyote deterrent, but should one come in my fenced backyard I hope it would think "what the hell is that!". Maybe scare it, give me time to get my babe inside again. My neighbors say it looks like a little green alien is roaming my back yard. Going to get a red one too. Slim enough she can wear red & green for Christmas & be jolly!

I had seen someone else with one of these on their dog, and in our mountain town where we don't have a lot of street lights, it was really cool to be able to see that they had a dog in the dark. We just got a dog again and she's black and I can barely see her around the house, much less out in the dark on a walk! The blinky options are horrible. Can't even look at her when they're on, so we use the solid all the time. Haven't had to charge it after using every night for a few weeks, no more than 20 minutes at a time. The color is great. Cutting it to adjust the size was a challenge. And then I probably need to make it a little tighter, but have no desire to try cutting it again. Tip for use: Put it on and pull it past their collar. Then attach your leash. This keeps it from slipping off their head even if it's too big. You don't want to TOO big as it gets in the way of sniffing.

I have a small yard for my dog but I live in a rural area and it can get dark. Even with a reflective collar and the porch light, my black dog can vanish before my eyes. It wouldn't be a problem but the gate is something she can, if she really wants, get to and open before I get near it. In addition, I'm moving to an area with a large, dark yard. This works great! No matter where she is in my yard, I can spot her instantly. No more peering around, calling, hoping to spot her. Now it's easy. I got this about two weeks ago and I've not had to charge it at all since. She only wears it a few minutes at a time a couple of times a night, but I appreciate not having to charge it constantly. Also, it was super easy to shorten. I can't recommend this enough!

This collar is great for dogs if you have a big yard that isn’t fully lit, go on late evening/early morning walks, etc. can cut it to adjust the size. Has 3 light settings, super lightweight, water resistant, and I don’t need to charge it very often.
