This is a fantastic HVAC heater and chiller for your pool, this one works very great! I did the install with a couple friends to help out not hard to install, ran a 10/2 wire from the panel with a D curve, 25 amp breaker, plumbing was simple with 1 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC with a few 90 and Tees and 3 shut off valves. Great investment to get more time out of the pool each year. Very durable so far good design, no leaks and perfect compact design.

This Aquastrong heat pump (75K BTU) was purchased early August 2025 and within a matter of weeks, my pool guy installed the system. I had gone from an Ecosmart tankless pool heater 18k 240 v to the Aquastrong heat pump. From the time the unit was installed and programmed it functioned so well. The unit was easy to program, and it was also easy to setup the application on my phone. I have run my Aquastrong heat pump for several weeks now and it didn’t coast as much to run the ecosmart 18k. The savings are phenomenal!! Within minutes the heat pump temperature had increased a degree or so. Granted I ran the heat pump though the night and with the morning light it was close to the target temperature. I have a 15K gallon pool. The only problem I had with this the heat pump was the application itself. somehow it had gotten out of wack. I just deleted the application and reinstalled and it seemed to sync perfectly with the unit. When I contacted customer service, they were responsive, very helpful and clear with their directions. The unit is beautiful, when it is on the fan produces a strong cool air. Wish I could channel the cool air into my house. :)). You will not be disappointed when you purchase this Aquastrong heat pump the value for you money is quite evident in your electric bill!

The heater is very quiet when running and heats the pool very efficiently. We had a stretch of cold weather and the heater maintained the pool in the upper 80s. This heater is 100k BTU and is half the size of the older units. Very easy to install. It's been running for 2 months so far with no issues. I highly recommend this heater. The mobile app works well, one tip is to update the readings you need to perform an operation, such as change the temperature setpoint to force an update.

The media could not be loaded. Living in southern New Hampshire, the pool season is short (only 2 months this summer), especially with a back yard that does not get much sun. After many years of living with just a solar collector, I learned of highly efficient electric heat pumps and decided to try the Aquastrong HEX055 (for up to 16,000 gallon pools) for our 24' round above ground pool. It was set up on 8/26/25 and after getting past some initial issues with a minor documentation error and trouble connecting with the Tuya app, it is working great and has extended the late summer pool season already by 3 weeks, despite it being a below normal late August/early September here with lows around 50 degrees at night. We have had only one day reach 80 degrees and on that day we got the pool back up to 83 degrees (it was 68 the day we started using the heat pump). The system runs quietly and cannot even be heard given the sound of the pool pump. It has a nice on-board display and it is great having the Tuya App I can access from anywhere to check or set the temperature or to modify the On/Off schedule. I have to say the support from Aquastrong was fantastic helping me through the initial minor issues I encountered. I am really looking forward to next spring and summer when we can enjoy a 4-month pool season! I have included some photos and a video showing my setup, with the output from the solar collector connected to the input of the heat pump. You should keep in mind that you may need an electrician to set up the electrical needs. I needed a new 30 amp gfci breaker and a new 30 amp circuit from the panel to the outdoor junction box.

I really wanted to like this unit, but my experience has been extremely frustrating. From the beginning, I’ve had ongoing issues with performance and reliability. The unit has thrown multiple error codes and has not operated consistently despite following all installation and operating guidelines. The bigger issue, however, has been customer support. Every time I’ve reached out, I’m pushed into another round of troubleshooting steps that I have already completed multiple times. It feels like the process is being dragged out rather than resolved. I’ve made it clear that I’m seeking a refund or replacement, but instead of addressing that directly, I continue to be routed through repetitive troubleshooting requests. At this point, it’s hard not to feel like this is a delay tactic that risks pushing customers beyond the warranty window. I’ve been patient and cooperative, but there needs to be a point where the company stands behind its product instead of continuing to deflect with troubleshooting scripts. If you’re considering this unit, just be aware: if something goes wrong, you may spend more time going back and forth with support than actually enjoying your pool.

The media could not be loaded. So far so good. The shipping was fast, it arrived in 2 days. My husband couldn’t find the accessories at first but that was a user error 🤣. He didn’t read the instructions. Our electrician had to ground a wire and put in additional plugs. Once that was done, it was plug and play. It took about 48 hours for the pool to completely reach the set temperature of 85 degrees. We are just now opening the pool for this season and it’s still spring so the water was about 65 degrees at the start. The pump is heavy duty, sleek in design and user friendly. Customer service was great when I did had to contact them. So far, everything is running perfectly and it’s give 100% more filtration flow than before. It’s definitely working, the water is warm (we increase the temperature to about 90 degrees) and so much more enjoyable.
