Even with a slight hiccup. I still give this product and its customer support 5 stars! Purchased early in Feb of this year, after a 15 year Old workhorse finally gave up the ghost. The energy efficiency, size and power of the motor made this the perfect replacement. It arrived quickly and installation was done in less than an hour. The pump hummed to life and began its run…..now for the hiccup, two weeks later the pump stopped working. Contacting support was easy and they responded quickly. Beyond impressed! Our pool pump had died in the middle of the evening I came home. It sounded a little funny. I turned it off just to see if there were something stuck in the filter. It was clean so I went to flip it back on and that’s where she died. I did a lot of homework looking to find a similar pump and instead, I found one way better. We have a roughly 15 x 25 swimming pool 10 foot deep in the deep end not really sure how many gallons a lot. The one I had was only a 1.5 hp and was having a hard time finding another one that was 1.5 hp and was genuinely looking to replace the pump with the exact same pump until I found that the exact same pump was like $800 considering how long they run and how consistent they work maybe not the worst price tag but for a last minute near the end of the summer unexpected purchase more than I wanted to spend. So I found this one that’s a 2 hp and yeah you do need to be careful even with half of a horsepower difference. If you have any flexible plumbing, it is possible that it could collapse the hose and it would be a prudent decision to also upgrade your cleaning hose to a professional grade one they do exist and they’re not that more expensive than a regular hose otherwise the hose can collapse in on itself and as I’m sure you know once that happens to a section that section becomes prone to collapse more often. I love this one runs on a regular 110 outlet so I can stop running basically a dryer 24 hours a day. My electric bill was getting crazy because my last one was at 240 V I like the extra #Warranty you can get through Amazon but also through the company. It is very quiet. The install was very easy. Already thinking about when I close the pool here in a few weeks how easy it will be rather than leaving my pump out in the elements all winter since this one isn’t hardwired in that I can drain it and move it into a barn or a garage or heck, even just a box so it’s not being totally exposed but it makes it very easy since it just plugs in versus being hardwired. The timer was super easy to set up. All you have to do is like how many hours you want to run and then push on at the right time. So not like a regular time where you can set the time of day or anything like that so if you want to turn on at 8 AM, you have to go down there and turn it on once at 8 AM and tell it to run for 10 hours. And even though I have hit the power button to turn it off so I can sometimes clear out leaves or bugs or whatever is caught in the filter. It does not lose its place in the schedule as long as you don’t unplug it. So not only does it run on less electricity. It is slightly stronger, which really does have the water really moving in a good way but it has a timer built-in for so long my wife and I I’ve just been burning through the electricity and I know it sounds lazy, but our pool isn’t exactly controlled from inside the house so it is awesome on the electric bill to now not have it running all night and that it’s running less electricity but it’s very quiet all the connectors that came with fit perfect I’m about two months in on it. I did get the extended warranties because I read other people‘s reviews and to be honest I’m not concerned at all. It is nice to have that as a fallback and at this price point getting a little extraWarranty for some peace of mind isn’t so bad. And I’ve never been more excited to see an electric bill in my life.Lol great purchase great product. You will not be disappointed.

The media could not be loaded. I replaced an old 2hp pump/motor with this 3hp pump/motor. First off, I like the blue color. I had to re-pipe the water lines since the pump and motor are both smaller than the original setup. I added a coupler on the horizontal pipe leading from the top of the pump to make it easier to line up the vertical up/down pipe. On my first install attempt, even after a lot of measuring, I inadvertently left the up and down pipe at an angle. I also left the flange that screws into the pump housing off the pipe so I had to cut it to correct both of my issues. Right above the pump, you can see where I added a straight coupler. On the horizontal pipe just above that, I added a threaded union. Those to additions, corrected my initial plumbing errors. The pump itself is working great. I don't have a way of measuring flow but the water flow in my pool doesn't look much different from the previous pump. Sound wise, I believe it runs smoother than the older pump and this one is noticeably quieter. The filter basket in the pump is different than the original but also larger. I really like the crystal clear lid that lets me to easily see what is inside the basket without having to remove the lid. One issue that I did have is on the electrical. This pump comes with a pre-installed electrical cable. Codes in my area require permanent installations to be wired with conduit. I needed to replace the water tight fitting where the electrical cable goes into the electrical box. However, the thread of the original coupler that came with this pump uses a finer thread than the standard couplers found at the hardware stores. That made installation of the electrical wiring difficult. However, I got past this by slightly heating the new coupler until it was barely pliable then forced screwed it into the electrical box (without the wiring of course). Not the most professional way but it threaded all the way in and provided a good weather proof seal that is secure. I included a picture of the motor already installed. I have the motor sitting on landscaping blocks. It took me a couple of trips to the hardware store to find the combination of pavings stones that provided the exact height level, but I found them and it worked great. The included video is to show the noise level of the pump. Disregard the beeping sound though, that is a different system that I have on in the background and nothing to do with this pump. In the hot sun, I can't say whether this pump runs hot. However, from what I can tell and by just putting my hand near it, I can attest that it runs way cooler than the unit that it replaced. Obviously, the old unit was on it's last leg so not the most fair comparison, but that is the only reference point that I have. This pump/motor combination cost me less than buying just the motor alone that failed. Value for money is a definite and by registering the unit, they are currently giving an extra year for the warranty. After also shocking the pool then cleaning the pool filters, the water is crystal clear. Glad I went with this pump.

I have purchased about 20 of these pumps in the past 2 years. They are Great. I am a pool builder and used Pentair and Hayward products the past 10 years. Thought I would try these Aquastrong pumps. I now use these Aquastrong pumps on all my new pool builds. They are quiet and pump alot of water. I am very Happy with their performance. I will continue to use these pumps as my sole product line for new pool projects. I am so Glas I gave them a try....I have had no problems in over 2 years now.
