I purchased a SmatFarm G6 140W Aquarium Light recently. Didn’t work out of the box, I contacted them. Their customer Service response by email was prompt! They explained to me that because of tariffs and other trade disputes they will not be able to replace it with a replacement from China; however, they coordinated with Amazon to send me a new one! They kept me informed every step of the way. Needless to say the light is phenomenal, worth every penny. A perfect fit for my reef tank. The media could not be loaded. I needed a new light for my 10 gallon cube reef tank. I was using a Spectra Aqua Knight V2 30W light. While it grew SPS/LPS and Zoas, I was having to run it maxed out on the blue channels and could only run the white channel on 5%. Anything more than that it was too yellow. Reading reviews on the Smatfarm G3, I decided that it was right for me. It was also on a lightning deal, so I ordered one. I LOVE the color. I'm able to turn up the white light and not have the color go yellow like my old light. I was running the white channel at 10%, the blue channel at 55%, and the purple channel at 55%. The overall color was awesome. My corals were happy and puffing up daily. I couldn't be more happy. Then 5 days later.... I came into my office, the light should have been off, but the white channel was on about 30% or so. I checked the display and it showed all channels were supposed to be off???? I unplugged it and let it sit for a few minutes, since there is no hard reset button, I though this might reset the light. Nope, same thing. I just left it on while I filled out a request for a replacement light from Amazon. As the sunrise function started to ramp up, the light started flashing white on/off every second. I could see the display go from 0% to 28% and back to 0%. I reached out to Smatfarm via email, not expecting much since it was 8:00AM here and who knows what time in China. Within 30 minutes, I was emailing with a rep from Smatfarm. After asking for a video to see what exactly the light was doing, they told me what I already knew, there was something wrong with the light. They apologized over and over for the trouble and gave me an extended warranty on the replacement light, which I think was great. I really like the light, and hope that I just got a bad one. I hope to get years of life out of the replacement and great growth out of my corals! I was also very happy that there was actual customer service out of a Chinese company too! If the replacement light fails early too, then I'll revise my review. ... show more

This light works really well, I used to have a maxspec light but it was too big for my new tank so I bought this one. If you’ve used maxspec lights before it has a very similar interface but this light comes with a remote and is easy to set the light schedule with. Awesome marine light for a reasonable price. I'm not an expect, this went onto my first marine tank and I only had starter corals, but what I had did well. It's all I could afford at the time and I'm glad I got it, should be all that matters. Menu was not super intuitive, but that might just be me getting old. ... show more

Very unhappy with it product, plug it in all lights go on pushing all the bottoms to program it NOTHING this light is a bad lemon from the tree. I even believe someone else had this light because the time was set 10:35 at my house the light said 9:35. I was enable to set time and all other light times. Junk 🤬 ... show more

I got rid of my last reef tank about 12 yrs ago. Back then I had to use 4 110w vho bulbs, two metal halide bulbs and separate led moon lights. The heat generated by all this was one of the reasons I got out of the reef business. I even had to buy a chiller. ALL of that lighting ability is included in this ONE light. Absolutely incredible. I read some of the reviews and watched some videos from current owners, most seemed to not like using the remote. Personally I prefer using the remote. Just make SURE that anytime you adjust any of the preset settings, you go back to MODE SELECT and click on the one you want because it will default back to LPS if you don't. I've got a 36 gal bowfront this time and it is still a pretty new setup so I am still in a wait and see as far as brightness is concerned. I backed all the colors off about 10% from the default setting and the corals are puffing up much better than on the factory default.
