  • Loud, but effective
Size: 4 Fans
These are loud, I wouldn’t keep them in a bedroom, but they do keep my 20g tank cooler than what it was. I was sitting at around 70 degrees, but now it’ll sit in the mid-low 60s at the low setting and high 50s-low 60s at the high setting. Be prepared for the water to evaporate faster of course. Was a good investment for my Axolotl verses getting an expensive water chiller! Worth the money for sure. ... show more

  • Axolotl tubbing
Size: 4 Fans
The media could not be loaded. I initially bought this to cool a 20gallon long tank because I didn’t realize that I would probably need a real chiller. I don’t know how effective or consistent it would be cooling my 20 gallon. I live in Texas so I haven’t tried it during summer months, but currently the ambient temperature in my house is around 76°. I made the mistake of impulse buying an axolotl even though I have wanted to for a long time. Previously I cycled a tank for one but never had any luck finding an axolotl at my local fish stores, so I turned it into a betta tank. In my impulsivity, I did not have a tank cycled and need to tub my axie until the tank is ready. For the first 2 days of tubbing I was using ice packs to keep the water cool, but the temp was inconsistent and it was a lot of work. When the cooling fan arrived I was able to set it up next to my tubs to keep the water around 67°. For reference, my tubs are equal to about 8.64 quarts of water each. The water from my faucet was 76° and within 40 min my water reached 67.6°. Pics will show the setup for cooling and vid shows how to maintain the cooling. When initially cooling I had the fan set to the higher air flow and for maintaining temp I had it set at the lower setting with fans indirectly blowing as to not disturb the water too much. I dont think it will lower the temp in my tank enough or be able to keep it consistently cooled. But I’m glad I bought it so that I can use it for tubbing until my tank is cycled or if in the future for some unforeseen circumstance I need to tub my axie again, I will have it. Or I can also use it to supplement my chiller in the summer months. ... show more

  • Effective but LOUD (broke after 3 days of use)
Size: 4 Fans
The low setting lowered my 30 gallon about 4 degrees, and the high setting lowered it about 8. It works well, but the high setting is LOUD. The low setting is tolerable but if you can’t tolerate a lot of noise and need it to be lowered a lot try a different product. (Edit: broke after 3 days. Just completely stopped working.) ... show more

  • Good chiller but had to return
Size: 4 Fans
I wish these would have worked for my tank. I have a 40 gallon TopFin breeder tank and due to the top of the tank having a black rim that could (in theory) hold a lid this chiller can not attach to the top of the tank. The clips on the chiller are not wide enough to handle the width of the top of my tank. If you have a different brand tank or better yet a rimless tank this should be able to attach without issue. Side note, I have yet to find an aquarium lid that will fit the TopFin 40 gallon breeder tank. ... show more

  • Died after 3 weeks of use! Twice!
Size: 4 Fans
I bought this for my aquarium and while it was working it brought down the temp of my aquarium 5-7 degrees F. It was a little loud. But the motor died after 2-3 weeks of use, I had it replaced and the same thing happened again and the motor died again after 2-3 weeks of use.

  • It works when it works
Size: 4 Fans
I had an issue with my 55 gallon aquarium water temperature hovering around 80-82 degrees. I needed the temperature below 80. It didn’t take long for the cooling fan to cool the water to 78 degrees. Which is why I’ll give it 2 stars it does as advertised. I don’t think it’s loud from the reviews I was worried it would be to loud. However the quality of the plastic is cheap and light. This cooling fan didn’t last a week. I didn’t run it continuously so I don’t understand why it went out so fast. I checked the reviews and is a common issue they don’t last long. ... show more

  • Work just very LOUD
Size: 4 Fans
Although it does the job it’s so incredibly loud!

  • It’s better than nothing
Size: 4 Fans
It helps cool the aquarium down a little but not a lot. It also doesn’t fit on the tank because the gap is not wide enough to slide over the side. We just put it on top of the protective screen above the water.
