  • Absolutely love this thing!
Color: Bad Boy Blue
Short version: Love the bag! Used in professional boxing gyms, easy to set up, versatile, practical, extremely durable, and I will be purchasing the largest bag as soon as I figure out how and where to place it in my home! Long version: I was hesitant purchasing this bag because when I thought of a water bag, I thought of a water bed. I was thinking this bag would explode or leak on me, so I shrugged it off as some gimmick that popped up on my Amazon recommendations. Then, I started to see them pop up in training videos of world class champs, like GGG and Canelo, and they were digging into these bags with everything they could muster, so I finally decided to give it a try. This little bag can take punishment like no other! I'm 6'1", 315lbs, and I've been coached very well on how to get my weight, legs and hips into each strike. I've thrown exaggerated power shots, like a loaded lead hook, a loaded rear hook, a gazelle punch, and plenty of uppercut-hook combos to see what it can take. I even used a baseball bat to test its durability, and it took the shots like a champ! I've had it for several months now and have been digging into this bag on a frequent basis, and I have had zero issues so far! I love the practicality of it as well! It's not like your standard heavy bag where it will just stand there and allow you to throw your heaviest blows repeatedly; it moves. It trains your timing, your rhythm, your precision and accuracy and your hand-eye coordination in order to get more shots in. I like it better than your standard uppercut bags, where it's this massive bag that you can easily land any and all uppercuts on; you have to get your distancing and precision correct in order to land successful uppercuts on Aqua Bag. It works your defense because you'll have to slip and block shots from the bag when it swings towards you, and trust me, you don't want this thing to fly back into your face. Don't shrug it off as "just 15lbs". A sledgehammer is just 15lbs, but look at what it can do even if it swings lightly. It'll help with distancing as well because if you allow it to smother your shot as the bag is swinging back at you full force, well, RIP wrists. TIPS: *When removing the screw for the water hole, make sure the rubber stopper is out as well, Sometimes it stays in there, and a simple pair of pliers or tweezers will pull it right out. *I'm not sure why people can't fill theirs all the way, but I was able to. Make sure the hose is at full pressure and have the screw/rubber stopper in hand ready to go once you pull the hose off. But honestly, even when it was extremely full, water didn't come gushing out once I pulled the hose, it just kind of trickled out. There's plenty of time to place the screw in once you remove the hose. *Buy gloves. I can dig into a standard heavy bag with no gloves for knuckle conditioning and because hooks barehanded won't be the same as all the hook strikes with a boxing glove; I train for self-defense. If I'm worried about splitting the skin on my knuckles, I'll just use tape, and I can tee off all day on a standard heavy bag. The Headhunter Bag, however, I do not recommend going barehanded, or at least not for long periods of time; this bag is NOT forgiving especially if you're not used to knuckle conditioning. I use the RDX MMA gloves for several reason: 1) just enough padding to protect my hands but not too much to where I can't condition my knuckles, 2) strikes with an MMA glove are closer to how'd strike in real life situations, 3) the glove covers up the second knuckle so I don't have to worry about it scraping off the skin if I throw an uppercut or hook incorrectly. *You can set it to whatever height you want, but I would recommend the base of the bag be level with your chin level or higher to prevent accidentally hitting the iron hook. I've never had a problem with it, but I thought I'd address it since I saw it in some of the reviews. I didn't expect to write this lengthy of a review, but it's definitely my favorite purchase of 2018. After experiencing the durability of this bag, I am definitely going to purchase Aqua Bags' 21" bag. ... show more

  • Yea, it's a buoy.
Color: Fireball Orange
I once own a very large boat and had it slipped in a marina. I used buoys to keep it from hitting the sides of the slip, they are called fenders or buoys. I wanted to purchase a Maze ball/ Head hunter bag for boxing training. I don't know what the deal is but you can't find one anywhere, they are all sold out, wiith the exception of this bag. So I purchased the head hunter bag. The bag is solid, works as described, but it's a little big for a maze bag. When I received it, I had to laugh becasue it's exactly like the Buoys i used on my boat. Same material, look and I could take this maze bag and use it on my boat if I still owned it. So, does that matter? It seems a little phony to me to repackage what is oviously a buoy and call it a punching bag. But on the other hand, you have to respect the genius of the idea and respect who ever came up with it. The product is fine and you will likely enjoy hitting it. Color is cool as well. I'm still hoping to find a real maze bag someday, but this will work for now. ... show more

  • Cool bag--pros and cons
Color: Fireball Orange
Pros: durable (I've been beating mine for 2 years), round shape lets you throw a variety of punches, uppercuts, kicks, etc. You can duck and evade, work defense. You can hang it outside as there's no issue with the stuffing getting wet. Cons: Surprisingly, this thing is hard as a rock when filled. And I've been doing Muay Thai for decades and can slam my shins into the bottom of most heavy bags with no issue. But you slam your shin into this and you feel it. I mention this because you'd think it would have a lot of 'give' to it, being filled with water. I actually had mine hanging and a friend came along and hit it with a right cross barefisted and yelped after the punch landed. But this has become a staple in my training routine--it's a fun bag to use with your regular kickboxing workout. ... show more

  • They tried to make it right, still getting another maize bag.
Color: Bad Boy Blue
Update, The company actually did contact me and tried to make things right. But honestly I'm adamant about not getting another one of these, due to the level trouble I had with the last one. I'm weird like that. There's a possibility that I got a bad batch/one. But it was really nice of the company to contact me and wanting to fix the situation. -------------------- I got this and for the money I paid, I expected better. The plug was cheap. Started stripping immediately. Followed the not that helpful instructions and it didn't fill all the way full. Pretty sure to get this filled to my liking I'd have to do this under water or something. I'm wondering if this is a cheap version of a better product out there. After the hassle of this I took some elbows and shin to this. By shins and elbows went into easily. I've been doing Muay Thai and other arts. I often condition my shins and have a high pain threshold. But this was nothing. Not sure what people were talking about when they said this was hard. Other than that I noticed errors or in perfections in the seem/molding of the bag. ... show more

  • An integral part of anyones Bruce Lee starter set
Color: Fireball Orange
Use it to simulate head shots and a maze bag, then I can move it down (using a ratchet tie down) to whatever height I need for knees and kicks. Tough and durable but use at least some sort of gloves, especially if you are new and your technique isn't perfect or you plan on going long after you get tired. Either way, you can't hit it with full power without risking injury to your hand. Cons: Just one, the shackle is a little too big and could be a little safer if it was lower profile. A bag about 2/3 the size of this thing would be ideal. ... show more

  • It's about the size of a large speedbag but is pretty heavy considering it is advertised as 15lbs
Color: Bad Boy Blue
This bag gives quite the workout! It's about the size of a large speedbag but is pretty heavy considering it is advertised as 15lbs. Hitting it definitely makes you work and getting it swinging it doubles as a great slip bag (and you won't want this to hit you!). A great addition to your home boxing setup. The only gripe I have is being unable to completely fill it with water. Mine has a bit of a dent-like appearance as it wouldn't completely fill with water. But this is more of a cosmetic issue than functional issue. I love this bag and highly recommend it ... show more
