Seems like a well made item but I was hoping for a finer mesh. I would recommend the item and seller but I would call the mesh fine rather than ultra-fine.

I returned this item. I bought it because it was billed as ultra-fine. I would not term it as such. I needed a net that would catch all of the little bugs that make it through my screen enclosure and this wasn't it. As a general purpose net it would probably be great.     • Nice inexpensive skimmer
I purchased this skimmer to remove duck weed off the surface of my koi pond. It has worked fairly well. The only complaint I have is that it tends to push water rather than allow it to flow through the net. I have overcome this by going quicker through the water with the skimmer. So far, so good.

I bought this to replace the skimmer I already had where the net was coming out. This new skimmer is indeed heavy duty and well built it seems. I mean, down the road who knows, but for now it's doing a fantastic job. No debris gets thru this net and it takes a pounding when I get the debris out. We already have one of these for our pool and we keep it on the extension pole, but I ordered another to use by hand for that occasional bug that lands in the pool while you’re swimming. Being able to grab an extra net and slim out bugs without getting out of the pool is a nice perk. The design is better. The mesh has smaller holes and skims far more. Then the mesh isn't flat. It's slightly pocketed. This pulls the debris away from the top where you skim so it doesn't come back out. Much sturdier design.
