The media could not be loaded. I see complaints about people that owned this for a year and they start getting error messages after the warranty expired. The same thing happened to me, but first I saw the heater was active way more than it should be (for a while) the difference is I know how (I think) to fix it. FIX FOR THE ERROR MESSAGE if you look at the heater it builds calcium up just like any other heater so you have to clean it. I would not buy any dealer solution for it as you FISH LIVE IN THIS WATER so I use vinegar and water. I took a pic of it soaking and as bad as it is it's going to take a few days so I recommend getting a secondary heater while this happens. Unfortunately don't have one so I came back to order a 2nd one and hope my fish will be ok. I'll update this if it doesn't work but if I don't then it did

bought these to upgrade from another type of heater. I like that the glass is not exposed as I have had fish injure themselves on heaters that were not guarded. The controls are easy to set and the heater appears to be accurate thus far.

had this for a few months and have had no issues about temp fluctuations or not accurate. placed it near the water filter in a 75gallon tall tank, not directly in line of water flow but temp stabilized very quickly.

This heater is really large and dominates a section of my aquarium. When I had an algae outbreak the design of the heater made it difficult to clean. But other than that I have been really happy with its performance. I like the temperature gauge and controls on the outside digital display, which is so much better and more precise than the top-dial controls I had in the past. This heater maintains a consistent and controllable environment for my fish.

On 3/3/21 I purchased two AQQA AQ-015 heaters for my 90-gallon fish aquarium, placing one at each end of the aquarium. Installation was easy, and I set each to a temperature of 75 degrees. The two heaters never register the same temperature at the same time, but they’re usually within one degree of each other, so no big deal there. I also utilize a submersible stand-alone thermometer, and the temperature reading on that is always within the acceptable range needed for the safety of my fish, so again not worth complaining about. According to the User's Manual, "Indicator light turns red and starts heating when the current water temperature is 1-degree LOWER than the set temperature.” One of the heaters is always displaying a steady blue light, which indicates all is okay. But the red light on the other one has been glowing since the day I installed it, while displaying the actual temperature of the aquarium alternating between 76 and 77 degrees, which is HIGHER than the set temperature of 75 degrees. I don’t know if it has something to do with the fact that the heater displaying the red light is placed a couple of inches away from the aquarium filter output nozzle, while the other one is placed at the other end of the tank near the input strainer. There is nothing in the instructions stating that you shouldn't place the heater near the output nozzle. On 3/18 I emailed AQQA regarding this. I received a reply the next day, requesting that I purchase a wave maker from them to increase the water circulation in my aquarium. So, they want me to dish out another $30 to resolve an issue with their heater that I just purchased for $45? I have a high quality aquarium filter system (Fluval FX6) that provides more than enough water circulation, so a wave maker is not going to rectify the situation here. I emailed AQQA again on 3/21 and requested either a replacement heater or a refund. They replied on 3/23. Their email was difficult to understand because they are a Chinese company and apparently had someone (or a computer app) translate their reply from Chinese to English (Their email address in the “From” field was actually Chinese characters). A lot of it was mangled in the translation, but whatever it was they were trying to say didn’t address the issue of the red light coming on. I don’t have the time or patience to go back & forth with them in an effort to resolve this issue, nor do I want to go through the hassle and expense of packing the heater up and mailing it back. Since the heater seems to be keeping the water within a degree or two of the set temperature I don’t believe it deserves an overly-negative review rating, it’s just annoying that the red light is on when it shouldn’t be. As long as it does the job of keeping the water heated and my fish from freezing, I guess I’ll just have to live with it. But for the $45 price tag they should really have better quality control - or at least offer a better solution than purchasing a wave maker.
