This remote works on an earlier model and I was surprised to find it. Of course, Amazon had it! It was very easy to pair with my Apple TV. Took only a few seconds. Works great!,

Okay....I am Not tecky at all! I lost my Apple Remote like I do on a daily basis....please let’s petition Apple for a larger remote or maybe a tracker.... lol. Well I couldn’t find for 3 days. I ordered this and it’s an actual Apple remote. I unplugged and two lugged my Apple TV. Pointed this remote and I am back in business. Literally the easiest remote to get going. I pressed a button. It took off where just one left. I’ve been watching Hells Kitchen all night. I could not be happier!!! You can NOT go wrong either this. It’s an actual Apple remote! I may have to order a couple extra as much as I misplace these. Anyway...this is an absolute No Brainer!!! If you need remote for Apple TV this is a God send!!! Buy It!!!🔥🔥🔥

My Apple TV is a model A1427 3rd generation, so it's quite old. The original remote that came with it eventually gave out just through wear and tear. I ordered a replacement and although it looked like the original it was lightweight flimsy plastic and never quite worked properly. This remote is exactly like the original remote made of machined aluminum and it also came in original Apple packaging. It worked perfectly right out of the box. I'm very pleased!

So I walked into the living room last week to find my two year old with the original Apple TV remote in her mouth. It worked fine after that until it dried and then the enter button was stuck in the down position. This rendered the remote useless. I frantically looked online to see if I could still buy a remote for the Apple TV since it was so old and low and behold I found this one!!! I bought it just thinking that it was some cheap knockoff item, because since when is ANYTHING from Apple this cheap? I reluctantly opened my amazon pacage to see what it looked like and how hard it was to set up. I read the quick instructions from Apple and it paired within 6 seconds and works flawlessly!!! If you need an old remote, BUY THIS One!!

I can't believe I waited so long to order a replacement remote. I waited literally months, bc I just didn't even think to consider that a real, working, replacement would be available on Amazon. I am an Amazon wh*re so the fact I was so dumb is just something Ill have to deal with on my own. But away from that, this remote was perfect. I did not need to unpair or pair anything. I simply pointed and clicked. I had been using the remote app on my phone and it is actually really helpful if you have to type anything like a username or password, bc god forbid apple make that easy to do with this friggin remote. But otherwise the remote works flawlessly, was reasonably priced, and I have no regrets. BTW for reference I have an original Apple TV, it might POSSILY a 2nd gen... but Im not sure. Either way, its older than whats out now. Everything works great.

It doesn't have a volume control. It also doesn't charge, so you have to change the battery using a 2032 lithium battery. To change the battery, there is a circle on the back with a slot in it. I used a nickel to turn it 1/4 turn counter-clockwise and replaced the battery. I bought a box of 2032s on Amazon a while ago and I need them periodically, so that was a good purchase as well.

I typically read negative reviews before I decide which product to pick, and was pretty skeptical about replacing a remote for an older Apple TV ... mine's so old I didn't know if it was a 1st or 2nd generation. This arrived within 2 days, we took it out of the package (which proved to be the hardest part of the whole replacement process), pointed it at the TV, and it works like a charm. No pairing, no problems, no issues. I think the people who write the bad reviews don't realize their problems may run a bit deeper than the remote. So if you have an older generation Apple TV, this is your simplest choice for a replacement. As a side note, I am taking the advice of the reviewer who said they were putting this inside a snack sized sandwich bag to protect it! Awesome idea.

This remote works perfectly on my Second Generation Apple TV. However, you must depair your current remote before the new will pair. There can only be one remote per TV
