I’ve used RoKu, my smart tv, Xbox, fire tv, and chrome tv. Apple is simply my favorite. It is reliable. Roku is good, but I have internet connectivity issues with wifi. Must reset often. Fire tv is ok, but not the best interface. Chrome tv is like my smart tv. I hate the interface and it has constant wifi connectivity issues. Apple 4K is flawless and fast. Real fast when compared to all others. Is it worth the premium? For me yes. I am willing to pay for quality and reliability on my main tv. In the bedrooms or on other auxiliary tv’s you can use the others. Those are Cheaper alternatives that do the job. However, be prepared to reset often, slow interface, and getting annoyed. Apple TV is the latest and yes, greatest. It has everything you need for a top of the line user experience. Outstanding 4K with HD10+, imax, and Dolby Vision. Oh, I also like the simplistic remote. I use it over my Logitech hi-tech Harmony remote. One reason, the Logitech remote is buggy too. Oh yes, The marvel of modern day electronics. They aren’t perfect, but I love ‘em.

This is one of those devices you don’t think much about until you use it, and then it’s hard to go back. Setup was quick, especially if you’re already in the Apple ecosystem. It synced with my account easily and had everything up and running in minutes. The interface is clean and super responsive, no lag when switching apps or streaming content. Streaming quality is excellent. Everything loads fast, and having Ethernet as an option is a big plus for stability. The extra storage is nice if you download apps or games, but even for regular streaming, the overall performance is what stands out. The remote is simple and works well once you get used to it, and Siri integration is actually useful for searching content quickly. Only downside is the price compared to other streaming devices, but you’re paying for performance and a smoother experience. Overall, if you want something fast, reliable, and polished, this is a great choice and feels like a premium upgrade over cheaper alternatives.

Good: Interface is so smooth and easy to navigate. The remote is great or you can use iphone/ ipad which is ridiculously responsive. The screen savers are gorgeous, surprised how much I love these. -The internet speed my TV now gets wirelessly (600mbs) is so good I haven't even used the ethernet port. - Picture quality, I thought all streaming apps were the same. They are not, apple uses higher streaming quality. - I'm an Android user and glad to have an iPad pro, some features are very convenient if you hold your device next to apple tv device. And having Apple Airpod pros offer personal listening experience with pretty cool spatial awareness feature. Device tapes on the back of TV without connection issues. THE BAD- YouTube,. Not all 4k Youtube videos are playable in 4k. It's a Google vs. Apple debauchle that apparently will be coming to an end. -If your Samsung tv is older than 2016 you don't get HDR10+

This is the first Apple TV that I have had and so far it is a mixed bag. The picture quality is amazing and I like the way I can connect to several streaming services. For most services it is great but for DirecTV stream, the remote is very cumbersome to use. I tried to use another multi device remote but it wasn’t any easier. Part of the problem might be the DTV app and not necessarily the device, but it is much easier to control DTV on my Fire Stick 4K Max than it is on my Apple TV. I bought this to replace a relatively new Roku ultra because Roku abruptly stopped supporting the VidAngel app and won’t reinstate it, while the Apple TV and FireTV both do support it. It was a hard choice between the new FireTV cube and this, but I eventually ended up going with the AppleTV. So far, other than the remote, I haven’t regretted my decision. It is very responsive and both sound and picture quality are great. I like that I can Airplay from my iPhone as well. I eventually chose the AppleTV over the FireTV Cube because of the cleaner interface on the Home Screen. I do not like all of the ads on the FireOS Home Screen, but would probably enjoy using the remote more since I already like the FireTV Stick 4K Max remote that I use in the bedroom.

I like everything about the Apple TV except some of its integration features and it’s touch pad. The touch pad prevents you from using the center/select button while watching videos, because if you press it, it registers that you are fast forwarding or rewinding. I turned the touch pad off because I got tired of accidentally scrolling forward or backward for wanting to pause or adjust settings. This created a whole new set of problems though. The search feature is the single most annoying part of this device. Every time I want to search a movie for example, my iphone goes haywire urging me to use it instead of the remote to search. I don’t want to use my phone though, and there’s no setting to turn it off. This is increasingly annoying if I’m actually using my phone since there is a giant bar at the top “just in case” I want to use the phone keyboard feature. It’s so big it blocks the time and even certain features in apps. To get rid of it you have to turn screen mirror on and off, but at that point you’re backed out of the search on your Apple TV…doomed to repeat the process over again. I had a 4k firestick with Ethernet adapter. Honestly, except the things I mentioned, Apple TV is great for the price. It’s faster, has more storage, connects to my iCloud, mirrors my iPhone screen seamlessly, has more apps, and has more options. But some of the everyday navigation and use is atrocious, along with the inability to separate your iPhone from the tv. If Apple would improve in app navigation, search functions, and options involving a paired device, this device would excel in every way.
