Great smart tv

I bought the 27 inch tv to sit on my desk in my bedroom while using my laptop. I bought a tv riser to better view the tv and use my laptop at the same time. The screen size doesn’t hurt my eyes. The set up took longer than I expected. The back of the tv comes with 2 hdmi ports, audio ports and I think a usb port. It also has an antenna port if you want to connect it to cable. Since this is a 2022 model, I should have made sure to update it to the most recent update. It updated as soon as I plugged it in, but it updated 3 more times while trying to connect the cable cord. It wouldn’t accept all of my cable channels after the first update. On the third update, it found my local channels and loaded them in the Vizio free watch app. Connecting to the stream apps I regularly use was easy. The smart tv connected to my WiFi easily. The remote is responsive without delay. The picture quality of the shows I’ve streamed are very clear. Sitting at my desk the volume is clear. Watching from my bed. I have to turn up the volume to hear. This size tv doesn’t come with blue tooth connection for speakers, but you could use one of the hdmi ports for that. I recently used chromecast from my computer to watch a movie and the picture quality was clear. I also used Chromecast to look at email from my laptop. It was okay but this tv is better suited for watching movies or shows. I also airplay from my iPhone to watch espn on my smart tv and it connected easily once I put my phone on the same WiFi name as my tv. The picture quality was in high definition. If you are having issues with the internet connecting or not loading your channels, you can do a hard reset by turning off the tv, unplugging it, and hold down the power button for 30 seconds then replugging the tv and turning it back on. ... show more

Great TV for the money

I’ve had this TV now for a couple years still five star pictures. Great sound could be a little bit better. Wi-Fi goes out when you use the microwave. I think that’s just something because I got the TV close to microwave or something where how I’m living It is hard though to get my Apple AirPlay to work with the TV for some reason and if I’ve been watching/streaming a show for a long time, it will start to freeze up and I have to rewind our fast forward to get it to start working again otherwise great TV lightweight you have back problems or something you can’t lift the big TV. This 40 inch is great because it’s only like 10 pounds. It’s light as a feather. It seems like. I would love to have a bigger version of this TV. ... show more

PC Won't Wake it up from sleep.

Looks great. Fits my area. Good quality picture. A few things though.... And this didn't take away a start, but forcing me to make an account with vizio before I can even use a TV I bought is a no go. Every company does that now, so I can't take away the 5th star for that. However, the hdmi port not waking up the tv when my pc powers on? That's not acceptable. And after troubleshooting both the tv and my pc, still nothing. Not a deal breaker, but annoying enough for me to lose a star. ... show more

Got a VIZIO for RV back bedroom. Perfect size, easy connection and mounting was perfect for an RV mount that was very specific for alignment. Looks good in appearance for such a small TV. I had recently moved my belongings from long-term storage and my old TV screen unfortunately cracked in the moving process. I needed to buy a new one, but was unable to spring for something super-expensive. I was drawn to this for the size and price point, and I was happy with my old VZIO model. I liked how I had the option to pay for the TV in installments, which increased the affordability for me. Setting it up was typical for new electronics — rather tedious — but once I got it set up, it was easy to log into my streaming apps. I do not have cable or play video games so I can’t speak to that, but it does seem capable. I use the TV in my bedroom and don’t need to keep the volume loud, but the sound does distort a little if I put it over 25. External speakers might fix the issue, but I don’t have any. Since I bought it in January, there have been two times in which the sound cuts off completely out of nowhere. This was annoying, but the old trick of turning it off, unplugging the power cord from the outlet, waiting a few mins, plugging the cord back in and turning the TV on worked each time. Just an inconvenience to consider. Sometimes I do have issues with the HBO app specifically, even after making sure everything is updated. I’m unsure as to why that happens. Overall, I wouldn’t use this TV in the living or family room, somewhere where it’d get a lot of constant use. But as an extra TV for the bedroom or office, it’s a good size. You get what you pay for. UPDATE 9/2022: Please don’t buy this TV! Don’t be roped in by the low price because you’ll end up paying more in the end by buying this. The return window is a joke (less than 1 month) and I can’t in good conscience try to sell this to some sorry soul on FB Marketplace or Craigslist. ALL streaming apps are super laggy, despite a strong connection to the fastest WiFi. The SmartCast Home Screen consistently has issues loading which, you know, is kind of important if you wish to use this TV for streaming (as most customers do). The remote has buttons for Disney Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Pluto TV, iHeart Radio, Tubi, and Vizio’s WatchFree Plus app, which is convenient — but only when they work! Even when the Home Screen is down, those controls only decide to function 25% of the time. Don’t settle like I did - use your money elsewhere and invest in a TV that is reliable and that will work as advertised for longer than a few months. I now realize that TVs are a major investment. Great TV for kitchen and seniors

Great TV for the kitchen for my husband and me. We just wanted a TV to connect to cable. We're an older couple, and we found the setup a breeze. We plugged it in, selected the language, and in just a matter of minutes everything was working. The TV did everything by itself. We have never had such an easy setup. Since it's for the kitchen, the picture and sound are fine for us. I'm sure we could set the color if we wanted to. It works for our purpose. We're so happy with it, we have ordered a second one. Film mode in a great little Tv

I rarely write reviews but this little TV is amazing. I was looking something that I could put on my desk and that would play bluray movies at 24p or has 'film mode'. I was scouring over monitors but only very expensive ones had this option. Then a Google search suggested the Vizio D24f-J09. This TV has settings usually only found on much larger TVs. It has calibrated picture options as well. It's a pretty amazing picture and I feel like I'm watching movies in such a different way.... it's hard to describe. This thing is also built like a little tank. You could carry it from room to room easily without it feeling like it's so delicate it would break. Nothing but good things to say about this TV and I'm very picky with picture quality. You will not be sorry. Buy this TV while you can! ... show more

Exceeded My Expectations in Every Way

Purchased this TV during the 2023 holiday season on sale. With the cost saving I included the 2 year warranty as I am not someone who enjoys replacing things constantly beyond the original manufacturer’s warranty. We also have a competitor’s tv in OLED and a larger format in our home. I prefaced these detail in my review because I went into purchasing this item as a bedroom tv with the expectation that the image quality and the tv’s operating system would be disappointing compared to our competitors brand OLED television; boy was I wrong. If the image quality of this tv was the only thing I could shared positive reviews about I would be doing an injustice to the really well engineered user experience this television accomplishes. As someone who has worked in the field of IT that supports knowledge and learning end-user experiences, I can say first hand that Vizio did their homework to give this SmartTV its Smarts with intuitive and intelligent software features in the TV and the App that works seamless together. Now about the image quality. It is clear from the initial setup, the demo and ultimately the software update of the tv’s user interface that this tv’s processor, for the cost, does an exceptional job at image reproduction. The 1080p Full Array LED is balanced, clear without appearing overly saturated and glossy which differs from OLED. I think for people who prefer a more balanced image reproduction that feels a bit more natural and not as “processed”, this Vizio’s full HD engineering provides an experience that delivers on this description. I have not yet fully tested my Switch experience on this television beyond toggling a few games back and forth in the Switch UI and playing a few YouTube videos and some Hulu programming. So far, again, I am impressed. Having purchased this tv only based on the holiday sale price and reading a few reviews of other shoppers for this price, this television far exceeded everything I expected in a SmartTV at this price point. If you are shopping for a value driven over achieving SmartTV that isn’t 4K or OLED, this is the one I would recommend. ... show more
