Took a chance and tried to fix some chipped and cracked refactory boards for my fireplace. Replacement boards for my fireplace are very hard to find and extremely expensive. The cement is not like Portland cement as it is much more granular and therefor does not work for a thin application. It's more like bits of sea shells ground up. The directions on the can say mix no more than 5 ounces of water to this 3 lbs container. This can't be correct as you end up with a very dry mix with lots of cement that has not touched any water. ... show more
