First, I am not an Apple fanboy - far from it, I resent the "Apple tax" that applies to their products. This laptop is probably 33% more expensive than it should be, but I had to make the switch from Windows to macOS, so this was it. The attraction for me from purchasing from Amazon was saving about 10% over retail, and thus denying Apple from their full tax. I went from a Dell laptop (Core i5) to this laptop (Core i9), and things run 4x faster on this beast. The thermals are manageable, but this thing does run hot - 80-90C when maxxed-out, but no apparent throttling. I do not like Apple's "form over function" approach to engineering, as I had to add an external USB hub to get an Ethernet port, and to easily handle an external monitor, keyboard, trackpad, etc. Really, Apple. Grow up. A "Pro" device should not require additional purchase of items to make it fully functional. But, that aside, it's a good device.

I use for audio engineering and don’t have any issues with memory overload like I did with anything less than the memory on the 2 tb Mac.
