Bought this for my husband as a surprise. This was the only one that had the specs he wanted and it wasn’t $1000+. I wish I could submit a photo, because it looks basically brand new! Didn’t come in the original box or anything, and there’s like one small scratch on the top, but other than that it’s perfect! It was even charged and ready for him to set it up the way he wants and everything. Seriously, we weren’t given it for a review or anything. I was super hesitant about buying a refurbished MacBook, but did anyway and it did not disappoint.     • Arrived with shot speaker
The packaging and physical appearance of the computer looked good. No visible damage. I started editing video with headphones and everything seemed to work. However, when I did a playback with headphones removed, I was surprised to find that the left speaker was blown. It only generates a loud distorted fuzz. Completely unusable when listening back to video/audio edits unless you either hook into monitors or headphones. If you buy, definitely recommend doing a thorough check of ALL components before settling into a workflow. I wish we would have checked first, but had some tight deadlines from when our previous laptop unexpectedly fried. mac is supposed to be better. I think they still are, but I would purchase an Apple-certified refurbished rather than amazon refurbished based on this experience. We reached out to the company to set up an exchange, but they are unable to switch out with a working version. Now we need to go through the hassle of finding another similar computer elsewhere while we navigate the refund process here. Buyer beware... it's a great deal if you end up with a working computer. If you have the time and are willing to take the risk, do it. If you have deadlines to meet, go over to the Apple store and buy a certified refurb from them. ... show more

    • Worst Amazon purchase I've ever made
I ordered this based on decent reviews. I think it's important to note that the description doesn't mention a year anywhere. For the price I was disappointed to find that it was a 2015 when it arrived. The going price for a 2015 is substantially less. I was willing to look past that price however, because this was supposed to be a refurbished MBP. If it had actually been a solid working laptop, I would have happily spent the few extra hundred dollars. It's not. Instantly upon powering it up I was hit with a "service recommended" notice. The battery is bad. I get maybe an hour of use after a full charge if I'm lucky. But what makes it almost unusable is the fact that it dies without warning. In fact, it just died at 42% charge, which is what prompted me to write this review. I could have returned it, but I need it for work and didn't want to be stuck without a computer for that long. So I contacted Amazon, and to their credit they did offer to refund the price of a replacement battery. That's only so helpful though, because I didn't realize that you can't easily replace a battery in a 2015 like you could in an earlier MBP. I would have to pay a tech to install it for me. So I'm still stuck with a randomly dying computer. There's also a strange bulge in the bottom of the case, which means the computer doesn't sit flat on a desk or table. It rocks. If they weren't charging an above premium price for these they might be a good deal. But they're easily several hundred dollars above what they should be.     • Good thing the return process was easy
Edited: Case came a bit banged up, notably large dent in the side of the screen, but the laptop ran beautifully for about a month. And then it started randomly going to sleep while I was actively typing or on a video call, sometimes as often as every minute. After multiple visits to an Apple store, wiping the hard drive and reinstalling the OS, and lots of other troubleshooting, the Apple technician decided it was a screen connection issue, minimum $600 repair. Luckily the laptop was still within its return window and that process was extremely smooth. But “like new” was absolutely not the case here. ... show more

    • Very good product!
Very nice and clean product the only thing was that the keyboard did smell like armpit and took me a little while to get that smell off. I tried to contact the seller via email and phone but never got a response. Other than that the machine works perfectly fine!
