The MacBook Pro "Core i9" 2.3 16-Inch (2019, Scissor Keyboard) is powered by a 14 nm, 9th Generation "Coffee Lake" 2.3 GHz Intel "Core i9" processor (I9-9880H), with eight independent processor "cores" on a single silicon chip, a 16 MB shared level 3 cache, 16 GB of onboard 2666 MHz DDR4 SDRAM and 1 TB of onboard flash storage as well as dual graphics processors -- an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 4 GB of dedicated GDDR6 memory and an Intel UHD Graphics 630 graphics processor that shares memory with the system. Externally, this notebook has an integrated 720p FaceTime HD webcam, a "new Magic Keyboard" with a "redesigned scissor mechanism... including 4 arrow keys in an inverted-T arrangement" as well as a customized "Touch Bar" with a separate esc key and a separate "Touch ID" sensor, and a gigantic "Force Touch" trackpad. Additionally, it has a high-resolution LED-backlit 16.0" widescreen 3072x1920 (226 ppi, 500 nits) "Retina" display with True Tone technology and the option of setting the refresh rate, and a integrated battery that provides an Apple estimated 11 hours of runtime. Connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, four "Thunderbolt 3" ports (USB-C connector), and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I don’t usually do reviews but I wanted to do one for this product because I’m usually skeptical with refurbished products but this laptop is amazing. I do music, edit videos, and play sims and it’s still very good. I just have to keep it on the charger because it dies super fast and it does get hot but that’s about it. I had only a tiny scratch on the bottom nothing noticeable and they did give me a faulty charger but I just ended up getting a new one. I will be getting another one to move my sims on as my creative projects grow and I download more mods lol. ... show more

so, buyer beware. I received this MBP and cosmetically it was in pretty much new condition. no scratches anywhere and the screen looked perfect. Thats where the good ended. it seemed glitchy on the first boot up. the screen would flicker and the apple logo would sort of repeat all over the screen. I also had the WORST time trying to use time machine to restore my backup form my old MBP. after 3 days of it failing, I finally got it running with my time machine backup, but then it would just shut down all the time for no reason. wasn't overheating and fans were not kicking on, but would just turn off in the middle of using it. This happened multiple times every day. It came loaded with OS Catalina, and after it updated a catalina security update, it never booted up again. So now I am returning it for a full refund.     • Great for the price
I got a good price as I paid $1649 for a laptop that would cost at least a thousand bucks more if I were to buy it new, and several hundred more if I were to buy it refurbished from Apple. The shipping was pretty quick and easy. It came wrapped in a very protective bubble wrap and simply had the laptop and the charger in the box. The charger looks to be brand new. The laptop itself was in satisfactory condition. It had a few very small dings (no dents or scratches), and normal wear around the charging ports. the bottom of the laptop had some discoloration due to a case or something being used on it. When the laptop arrived it had 298 cycles on the battery. This seemed like a lot but the battery still has a lot of life left in it so it wasn't a deal-breaker for me. The computer works like new and has been very nice to have! I have used it for just shy of a week and have noticed nothing of concern. If I do have future issues I will be sure to update this review. As for now, I am happy and satisfied with my purchase! ... show more

Great value for the money with no major issues besides overheating, which can be managed using Mac’s Fan Control app. Battery life is decent, but not great. If long battery life is your priority, I’d recommend an M1 MacBook Air or Pro instead, depending on your budget. This model is solid for heavy software use, though you may still experience heat during demanding tasks. It’s best suited for those who need a budget-friendly MacBook with higher storage or RAM. As with many refurbished models, there may be light scratches (even on the underside). Interestingly, my unit arrived with 32GB of RAM instead of the advertised 16GB — a pleasant surprise, though it could be misleading for someone expecting the exact listed specs. The 1TB storage is excellent, and the design is sleek, though opinions on the Touch Bar vary (I like it). Setting up with my iPhone was quick and easy. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this model if you want extremely long battery life, lightning-fast startup speeds, or dislike refurbished electronics. For my needs — heading to college for Film and needing a capable laptop for creative software on the go without spending $2,000 — it’s a great fit. ... show more
