i recommend buying this product when you are starting a new aquarium. It has all of the bacteria that you need for converting nitrites (toxic for fish) into nitrates (less toxic for fish). As a beginner, i definitely regret not buying this at when i first started cycling my tank because I was waiting for these bacteria to grow when obviously they were not present. But anyways, it helps speed up the process of cycling the tank. ALSO, shake it really hard before use for full effect. think of it as orange juice, all of the pulp is at the bottom and you need to disperse the good stuff by shaking it lol ... show more

After using, within 24 hours my tank got really cloudy. But this is actually a good thing. This is beneficial bacteria colonizing and the cloudiness will go away in a few days. So it looks like the product is doing it's job.

I use this when starting a new aquarium and with water changes and it’s a great product. Removed the chlorine and other bad stuff from tap water and starts beneficial bacteria growth. I’ve used other quick starts but this one is the best.

Worked as expected and is an excellent value for the cost. The cap has a built-in measuring cup for accurate dosage and directions made it easy to use. Some interpolation is required for smaller tanks but not difficult. Would recommend it to anyone who is setting up their aquarium.
