  • Amazing chemicals from prime
Prime makes amazing pond chemicals , they are my go to brand to keep my pond water in a good state. They are very potent so the dose is small and it’s a good bang for your buck they last so long!

  • Good!
So far so good!! Stinks to high heavens but that’s normal apparently. No issues so far and good size! I could see this lasting a long time for my 20 gallon tank.

  • The best antichlor product.
Ive used several brands of aquarium chemicals and conditioners. Prime is the best Ive found that removes chlorine, chloromine, ammonia and some heavy metals. Its fantastic at doing this. Following the listed dosing instructions seldom leads to any issues. But, the dosing instructions are only estimates as every municipal water system has differing amounts of hazardous chemicals and can even vary hour to hour. You can safely overdose the suggested amount to treat heavily doped city water. Bit if you do overdose too much, and far exceed the amount of chemicals in the water, Prime will tend to go after oxygen in the water too. If you notice the fish at the top gasping for air after adding a large dose of Prime, youve likely overdosed Prime. You can solve this overdose within often minutes by having an air stone bubbling heavily in the tank water. This will usually get enough water and air circulated to get oxygen back into the water within minutes. Frankly most tanks can benefit from an air stone all the time anyway. But if you follow dosing instructions, youll find you can use less Prime than the other brands and save some money while protecting your fish from municipal chemicals. Prime doesnt add slimecoat to the water. So sensitive fish like Cories and Loaches are better served. You can also use Prime to clean filter media recycled with Ammonia. High doses of Prime removes the ammonia solution used to clean. It can be added at each water change or small doses can help alleviate ammonia or nitrite spikes temporarily. It can be purchased in small little 250ml bottles clear up to 2l bottles for ponds or if you use it to detoxiify ammonia soaked Purigen. It does have an expiration date but will isually at last a year or so after bottled. Just be sure its shaken and mixed before applying. Also both in the bottle and when nuetralizing chemicals, it gives off a strong sulphur odor that disipates quickly. Sniffing the bottle could make you sick. You can store it at room temperature but dont let it set out in sunlight or to freeze. This is the most important and reliable chemical treatment I use. And I use it often in my tanks, especialy during water changing days. I usually get 1L or 500ml at a time. If youve only got one small tank, the 250ml size might be better for you. I always keep it on hand. ... show more

  • Prime!!!!!
Wife has 8 tanks and we do at least partial changes every week so we are a constant buyer of this one. We love it. Does exactly what it is supposed to. She took a thumbtack and put a hole in thing you are supposed to rip off vs taking the whole thing off so she can squirt drops vs having to pour it. She loves this method since we hardly ever need a full cap full. ... show more

  • Amazing stuff
Hands down the best water conditioner. WARNING: Using too much can strip the oxygen out of your water. It took me too long to figure this out. DOSE ACCORDINGLY

  • Always Prime!
Just started the fish keeping hobby - there was so much info on what to do, what products to use, how to use them, etc, not one place gave me a straight answer, so I did research. Between all the fish keepers I looked into, some businesses that sold fish, my local LFS that I get all my stock from and advice, most of them use the Seachem products. The reviews for Prime was so high and so many people used it that I looked into most of the stuff I needed to treat my water, fish, etc. I am confident I have anything I need and thank goodness because I had an infected plant and it infected my whole tank, it was a Sat night and I called my LFS and they told me what to use, I had everything. Also, the price point for Prime is affordable for the amount of gallons each bottle treats! Love Prime! ... show more

  • If you need a dechlorinator, this is the one you want
I like fish tanks and keeping fish alive and happy. Do you? Then you should use Prime. I haven't compared prices in a while to other dechlorinators, but even if they are a lot cheaper I'd still use Prime. I do a 10% water change every day (yes, every day... I know I know, that seems excessive... but I like doing it, that's why I have a fish tank because I like taking care of them... besides, it's only 20 gallons so it takes me like eight minutes since I'm only changing 2 gallons and it seems to stress my fish out less and make them happy more than more infrequent but larger water changes) on my 20 gallon tank and a 500mL bottle lasts me about 9 months to a year. You don't need much per gallon. In fact, I've taken to putting a small hole at opposite ends of the aluminum covering when you first get it so I can limit how much I'm putting in because when dealing with small water changes it is actually kinda hard to not put way too much in (not that it would be a problem if I did, since Prime does not immediately harm fish if you overdose, which is also nice and a selling point). In conclusion: If you need dechlorinator, get Prime. ... show more
