Description

API CO2 BOOSTER Freshwater Aquarium Plant Treatment promotes vibrant, healthy aquarium plants with easy-to-use liquid carbon, which is a necessary element used by aquarium plants for photosynthesis. API CO2 BOOSTER Freshwater Aquarium Plant Treatment supplies a concentrated source of carbon in two forms: CO2, as well as simple, organic carbon compounds. This liquid treatment supplies simple carbon compounds and slowly releases CO2 that plants can absorb through the water. May be used alone or with a CO2 system. API CO2 BOOSTER Freshwater Aquarium Plant Treatment is safe for use with freshwater fish and will not alter pH levels in aquariums. Use with API LEAF ZONE and API ROOT TABS Plant Fertilizer for complete plant care. With API Aquarium products, it’s easy to keep a beautiful saltwater, freshwater or reef aquarium. • Daily use in Planted tanks.
Color: Black Size: 8 oz Style: Aquarium Treatment
Using in a freshwater planted tank, our plants have never looked better. The plants are producing off shoots and the fish are doing fantastic. We use this CO2 daily on our fish aquariums!! When delivered cold The plastic did crack due to me dropping the bottle. I was able to save the contents of the bottle in the last bottle I bought meaning I buy this often. The size of the bottle is 8 ounces, fits under the tanks on the shelves well. ... show more

  • This stuff really works
Color: Brown Size: 16 oz Style: Aquarium Treatment
This booster definitely works well for aquarium plants. It's not so good for snails and shrimp. If I put slightly more than the recommended dosage it kills off pest snails and my Nerite snails and Ghost shrimp! So follow the dosage instructions. The plants do very well.

  • Works!
Color: Black Size: 8 oz Style: Aquarium Treatment
I had a bad algae problem in my planted shrimp tank with this nasty stringy algae. I’ve been putting this liquid in every morning and all of the algae is gone!! The tank looks so clean and healthy and all of my shrimp and little fish are doing well. Great product!

  • Relief from algae!
Color: Brown Size: 16 oz Style: Aquarium Treatment
I have a 20 gal acrylic. Algae is fierce and very aggressive, needs to be killed or it will smother and kill plants! I’ve been comparing C02 Booster to Flourish Excel over the last 2 weeks. Flourish Excel is working a little better. I have a lot of BBA and brown algae. More new leaf growth triggered and noticeably more algae dying with Excel vs. Booster. I will continue to dose Flourish Excel daily. ... show more

  • API CO2 Booster! Question
The media could not be loaded. API CO2 booster! Question I bought the API CO2 Booster as well as the Sera CO2 start. Before commenting on API, let's talk about Sera. Using CO2 drop checker, we can measure Sera co2 start from blue to green, but the dosage used is different from that of the manufacturer, so we need to use 2-3 tablets, and the water is 40-60L! Because this week, my moss grows rapidly from withered and yellow! Yes, pay attention to the picture of Moss, because I have not injected carbon dioxide since I bought Moss, so it leads to a large area of Moss withered and yellow, and there is no sign of growth at all! I do have a diy co2 device, but I don't want to use it and want to compare it with other types of CO2! Therefore, Moss faced death, and now it can be seen that Moss, who is withered and yellow, has grown again! It's Api CO2 Booster! Is it carbon dioxide? Can say yes, can say no! But it is not and incorrect, because glutaraldehyde can be biodecomposed in the environment, and the product does not contain halogen, and the decomposed product is carbon dioxide! Just like other aquatic plants, it is organic carbon liquid, and you can't detect any changes using CO2 drop checker! Therefore, we must pay attention to the use and use the dose carefully. If you doubt the efficacy and increase the excess dose, it will brake the fish, but algae removal has a certain effect! Individuals can take oxygen to avoid insufficient dissolved oxygen! I just started test today, and I believe it will take some time before I can make substantive and effective remarks, but it should be noted that it is an organic carbon liquid and a nutrient needed by plants. Therefore, it will take me some time to make a comment! How effective is it? Can it be like Sera CO2 start? But I will give five-star praise, and I believe it will bring me surprises! Update: 22-09-22 It's been 4 days, the same 40-60L water, 10ml dose is put into drought, and when you go home late to turn on the lights, you also use a carbon dioxide detector, but the light is only 4 hours, so you are afraid of growing moss and love moss, but not algae! I occasionally wipe off some, but not completely, because of the fish tank health index! Three days early did not feel the situation, to this morning saw the detector green, the reason is 21-09 night home to turn on the lights, after forget to turn off the lights! It was not until I got up this morning that I looked at the fish tank, changed water and fed, and found that the detector turned blue to green! The lights have been turned on for more than 8 hours! Let's estimate it like this! The daily dose of 10ml, change the water and clean the next day, and the dose put in earlier may remain in the fish tank under the condition of insufficient light, maybe not! Personally, I think API CO2 booster is effective. However, it is best not to use the dosage according to the instructions, but according to the size of your fish tank, the number of aquatic plants and the water capacity! You must observe for yourself, how many doses you put in, and how long you illuminate! But the last thing to mention is that oxygen must be given! Personal practice: Put in the dose early, let the aquatic plants absorb it, and turn on the light at night! Will glutaraldehyde deprive the fish tank of oxygen? Therefore, I use dissolved oxygen device to increase dissolved oxygen! And everyone's fish tank, in practice, will be different! Observe for yourself. ... show more

  • Amazing product
Color: Black Size: 8 oz Style: Aquarium Treatment
The media could not be loaded. This product is a must buy, I’ve had this new aquarium for a month and the growth of the Eleocharis is remarkable. My aquarium is about 6 gal and every morning I drop 6-8 drops in it. Something amazing is that I haven’t done water changes and it has remained algae free, except for the biofilm that forms on the surface. It is definitely a great product if you do not have co2 injection. I bought the small bottle because the product expires in about a year, but this doesn't matter because it's definitely worth the money. ... show more

  • Yes and no
Color: Brown Size: 16 oz Style: Aquarium Treatment
After purchasing this product I told people in a Facebook group that I was going to add this product to my tank care and they gave me a lot of strong warnings not to use it, that it was toxic, and that it could kill my fish. I didn’t have any snails and algae was getting out of control, so I went ahead and tried it at a very low dose. They were talking about dosing at the recommended levels like most people would. I’ve been using it in syringe and only about 1/10 the recommended dose, only when algae starts getting out of control. It does seem to kill off excess algae very quickly while also promoting root growth. So it does seem to do what it says. Even when I just use a tiny amount, my plants always have tons of additional roots within 24 hours. I hope it‘s not doing any long term damage to my lovely fish in this super low dose, cause I’m lazy and I love how fast it seems to work and improve the look of my plants. I wish I felt safe using it at higher doses. I would love to see what it could really do. I’m using only 5 drops which is 1/10 of a milliliter, in a 5 gallon tank. It’s pretty impressive. I don’t use it daily or weekly, only when I see an issue starting. I purchased some snails, which it is supposedly bad for, but they are still alive at that dose. And it only decreases the algae mildly at that dose, so they still have enough to eat. Personally, I would rather use this than snails to control algae since they threw off my tank parameters more than this product does. Even in my tiny 2.5 gallon tank it only takes a few drops of this stuff to quickly control excess algae growth. I would advise people to start at a very low dose like I did. At any rate, so far it seems to work, even at very low doses. I only gave it 3 stars because people who know more than I do about fish care warned me so adamantly against using this product in particular, at the suggested doses on the bottle. ... show more
