I was looking for a discreet, compact, outdoor security camera to supplement my existing security camera setup that wouldn’t need to be plugged into a power outlet; but instead could be powered by the sun. I was looking for the cleanest, most simplest install I could find—one that didn’t require me to run another long Ethernet cable (I have two 4K POE “Power Over Ethernet” cameras already running which do not have WiFi capability)—in other words, I wanted to go totally WIRE-FREE for this install. I planned on putting this camera at the far-end of my home to cover my backyard patio door. It also needed to have decent picture quality, a micro-SD slot for memory, the ability to withstand outside elements, AND not cost me an arm and a leg (or any other body part.) A pretty big list of demands, I know! So I was not really expecting to find anything close to what I wanted while being cost-effective. But, lo-and-behold, the camera gods have answered my prayers! And thus, I happened across this wonderful little camera that had everything I was looking for, and more! First what blew me away was the price. For just under $40, you get this awesome little outdoor camera that’s packed tight with lots of features. Second, it comes with its own little solar panel, all the mounting hardware, and a usb-c charging cord. This camera’s design is also much more aesthetically appealing than a lot of the other options I was considering which was great! Even the solar panel is well-designed, and is not an ugly eye sore. The picture quality is not incredibly detailed but it’s not horrible, it’s actually pretty decent for 2K. I’ve included a screenshot so you can decide for yourself. I’ve seen worse picture quality in higher priced cameras though to be honest! Setup was very simple, and the WiFi connection is still stable at a far distance from my router. The WiFi connection strength in the app shows 96% signal strength, even though my router is located far inside near the opposite end of the house with multiple walls and obstructions, etc. Of course it helps to have a strong performing router, so your numbers might vary here. But I was still very impressed with the quality of the signal and the camera’s ability to maintain a solid connection, which is critical for being able to capture events and such. The solar panel also comes with its own mounting hardware. I was also equally impressed by its power output; once you have it correctly installed and facing the sun in the right direction, plug this into the camera and you’ll never need to worry about it losing power. Set it and forget it! Now of course this camera is not as powerful as say the 4K POE cameras I have installed at the front of my house, which come with many more high-performance features and the high resolution needed to read license plates and all that. But for under $40 you can’t go wrong. If you’re looking to supplement an existing setup, this is a great option to mix with your better performing cameras for areas on your property that require an extra pair of eyes, and all you have to do is “set it and forget it.” It’s also a great camera for anyone looking for a low cost option, but still wants a decent picture quality and extra features. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

I am really impressed with the versatility of this product. I am using it to install outdoor security cameras at my church. There are many solar powered security cameras on the market. What sets these apart is the range of the cameras from the central base station. We installed these cameras at the front and back of our church building with the controller placed centrally near our ethernet router. The distance between the camera and the base station is as much as 250 feet including the signal passing through multiple walls. The cameras are easy to setup and mount and the solar panels easily provide sufficient energy to power the cameras. The base stations comes with a 64gb sd card which is used to store the motion triggered camera videos. The sd card can be replaced with one with greater capacity -- up to 1tb if you need that much storage. The cameras and the stored imaged are easily accessed using an Android or iOS phone app that can be use on a phone or tablet. The app can be installed on multiple phones allowing different people in our organization to access the data. The only thing missing in my opinion is an app that runs on Windows or Mac which would allow access to the cameras from a larger computer screen. Finally, I want to say that AOSU technical support is outstanding. A telephone number is provided in the documentation and it's answered quickly by a human (!) technician. We ran into a small problem while installing the cameras and the technician was able to quickly resolve our problem.

These are great affordable cameras! We have them mounted on our house and have used them for a few months now without any issues. The setup was easy and the app works smoothly. The solar panels keep the cameras charged, even though some are not in direct sunlight.

I’v been using this camera since may and so far I only have one complaint. Price: great price for an product of high quality Image quality: very high quality specially at night Battery: always fully charged, do not discharge easily Sensitivity: very responsive at movement. Size: the size it’s discrete , at night people won’t notice it’s there. Sound: voice sound it’s loud and clear The only complaint that I have is with the Aosu app, if you want to see your camera live through the app sometimes takes a lot time to upload the image. But , I definitely recommend this one and If I can I would buy another one.

Crazy how much I was missing from my other security system. These cameras are really good clarity and picture. A key thing to know is taking the time to watch each individual camera and see what it sees then make necessary adjustments to the actual camera where it is mounted, including moving it to another location. The motion updates are at first annoying which can be adjusted to your needs. This includes people or other things. I was curious about what animals where visiting my backyard, as apposed to people in the front yard, these cameras do that. This is a really good security system, I'm in a housing track so kid vandalism is a concern. Halloween is my "thing" and literally went out in the morning to missing EVERYTHING. Now, not going to be as much of a theft issue. These cameras record and I will be able to show the police video etc. I think the value is good for number of 6 cameras and then add cost for subscription that lasts for one month if you want. So far I'm good with the way these cameras have performed and options they provide is good.

They advertise the camera as no subscription required and yet you have to have a subscription to view any event or store the video even though you buy the central hub. The cameras are ok but there are better options out there and until they are installed it doesn’t show up that you have to have a subscription to actually use the cameras you paid for. Oh and you need a subscription for each camera. And there is a constant pop up to add a micro SD card. And to subscribe to there services what a scam

Technology is not my thing. This was easy to set up, even for me. Works well, good pictures. The most difficult part was mounting the cameras. I charged the cameras via USB before mounting. I have not yet mounted all of the solar panels. The batteries are still over 95% charged after more than a week of use. I am happy with this system.
