Easy enough to install, I'm a handy person so your mileage may vary. Fittings all seem high quality, in fact the whole thing seems high quality. Love the taste of the water, no more buying bottled. The dripping/bubbling noises are a small price to pay (and that is not unique to this system) for clean water, and it doesn't run that long, maybe 15 minutes if you fully drain the tank. ... show more

First and foremost, the effectiveness of this filtration system is remarkable. It works incredibly well to produce clean and great-tasting water, a noticeable upgrade from the usual tap water. I've been using this filtered water primarily for cooking for the past sixty days, and the difference in the quality of my meals is evident. The water tastes pure, with no trace of the bad flavors often associated with tap water. The AO Smith model is designed to reduce up to 99% of 90 contaminants, including fluoride, chlorine, lead, and more. Installation of the system was surprisingly easy. It's designed for under-sink installation, and the process was straightforward enough that I didn't need professional help.     • Really nice, water tastes great, but the air gap faucet is noisy.
Installation was pretty easy. Just need to make sure you angle the water lines in such a way the water doesn’t gurgle but even doing so, it was very difficult to get it to stop completely and it still makes a gurgling noise while the tank refills. I’ve heard this is just a thing that happens with RO systems though so probably nothing against this particular one, but still. Overall a good system, I like it a lot. ... show more

    • Easy to install. Makes a huge difference
I've been on the fence about getting one of these for quite a while and decided to pull the trigger and get it done. I'm honestly really glad I did. I don't have a point of comparison for the installation. Maybe they're all this straightforward but I doubt it. With all of the color coded lines and push connections, getting everything hooked up was way easier than I expected. Installing and changing the filters was really easy as well. Surprisingly easy. Makes me appreciate the investment even more. The quality of the water is head and shoulders above what we were getting out of the water filter pitcher that we have used for years. We only really use this for drinking water for the most part at least right now. This is simply due to the fact that it's an unefficient way to filter water as far as how much water it wastes. So it's definitely not something to use for all of your water that comes out. But for what it is, you really can't beat it. ... show more

I was very excited to get this filtration system. Installation was easy with one exception. The instructions say to connect the red vent tube as low as possible on the tail pipe close to the P-trap but when I did this and tested drains after installing the system by filling both sinks and draining them at the same time, I discovered that any water that backed up above the P-trap actually backed up through the filer system's red vent tube and out the vent hole at the base of the system's faucet. I researched this issue and found that it is pretty common with this system. I resolved this problem by removing and replacing the entire tail pipe and drilling the hole for the red vent hose higher on the tail pipe as shown in the attached pictures. Minor cons: If you use a lot of filtered water from this system at one time you will hear air and bubbling sounds coming from the vent hole at the base of the system's faucet as the system's tank refills which takes several minutes. I wish that the filter handles protruded out further so that someone with bigger hands could turn the filter cartridges easier in order to lock and unlock them.     • Great tasting water
The AO Smith high-efficiency reverse osmosis with SmartFlow™ technology is an excellent water filtration system. This system was incredibly easy to install. All of the hoses are color coded and the online video from AO Smith explains what to do and how to do it in the correct order. I had a couple of small issues with placement of the equipment under the sink but they were minor. I planned on using the water primarily in my pellet ice machine. I will also be using it for drinking water. The water tastes great and I am very happy I went with this system. AO Smith is a respected industry leading company and I know they make quality products. The only concern I have is the cost of the replacement filters. The only ones I have researched online were about $180.00 for a set of three which is close to 75% of the cost of the unit. I have about 6 to 9 months before I will need filters. The system is outstanding but my opinion will go down if the cost of filters remains at $180 a set. ... show more
