  • Kobra 3 V2 Combo - Great Value for the Price
My perspective is coming from several years of using 3D printers, but mostly entry-level printers (prices in the low hundreds of dollars). At the time of writing this review the Kobra 3 V2 has only been out for a couple of months. We got a Kobra 3 V2 Combo at work when the pre-order price was $379. We've used it for a little over a month and I liked it so much that I decided to buy one for myself. Obviously prices change over time, but it appears the current typical baseline price is $399 (regardless of what websites say is the full price). The lowest I've seen the price is $350. At $400, I would say this is a good setup. But if you can buy it on sale, I'd say it is the best bang for your buck. Highlights: -Great value for what you get: fast, reliable printer + multi-color/multi-material printing + filament dryer -In general the print quality is great. I have had some challenging prints fail, so it isn't a miracle worker, but for typical prints that are well supported I haven't had any issues. -I've used the faster "sport" mode printing speed and I was surprised that the quality still looked good. But that could be geometry dependent. -I've used dissolvable filament (PolyDissolve S1 PVA) in the ACE Pro to make dissolvable supports. It fed through the ACE just fine. Print results were acceptable. You have to tune the settings for the dissolvable filament, and it is hard to purge enough volume so you don't get any discoloration or swelling of the print itself after soaking the print. -Wireless printing without having to create or sign into an account (LAN mode). Cons: -It comes with a camera and it works, but the image quality and default location is not that great. -It cuts and retracts the filament after each print, so even if you don't change colors between prints you will be wasting a small amount due to purging as it loads the filament. -You need to create a way to catch the purge blobs or they will end up getting everywhere. -The ACE Pro is intended for plastic spools. Some cardboard spools seem to work fine, but others require printing plastic adapter rings otherwise the spool won't feed properly. As a side note, there was a mix-up with my initial order and Anycubic Customer Service did a great job of taking care of me. It is a little hard due to the time difference (from the US) so replies came in the middle of the night, but aside from that I had a very positive experience working with their customer service. ... show more

  • Only bad thing is that it can't print TPU in Ace Pro system.
First time using a new generation printer - I come from the before-fore time when you had to level your own bed and test the flow rate by hand and wait long grueling minutes of just waiting for the hot end to heat up to temperature. This process took about an hour when just starting out and I was able to refine that process down to 20 minutes with practice. With this machine, all of that process is automated and takes less than 10 minutes. I just make sure the build surface is clean and I'm able to use the on board diagnostics to start the entire process. Then once I've calculated the flow rate for that spool, I never have to do it again until I change spools. Once the filament was calibrated, the print quality for the stock settings was immaculate. Size was an issue at first but was able to use the Anycubic app to find a mount for the Ace Pro system that moves it on top of the printer. And it all fit in my large enclosure that used to house my old printer. This system is the best bang for your buck when it comes to multi-color printing. Period. My only issue with this specific setup is that it cannot print TPU (flexible) filaments because the Ace Pro system requires a rigid filament in order to work; but it can still be done if you disconnect the Ace Pro system and use the stock single spool holder that also comes with this version as well. ... show more

  • Value
After years of 3d printing on ender 3's and tronxy x5sa pro and of course the anet a8 this printer is the perfect upgrade the quality of prints rivals anything on the market today and nearly half the cost of your thinking about buying a new 3d printer don't pass this one up it's worth every penny

  • Well built, poorly designed.
First of all, you have to print the housing for the camera which is annoying, secondly, day one I updated the firmware to the latest one and it bricked the motherboard. After anemone research this is a common problem
