  • Kobra 3 V2 Combo - Great Value for the Price
My perspective is coming from several years of using 3D printers, but mostly entry-level printers (prices in the low hundreds of dollars). At the time of writing this review the Kobra 3 V2 has only been out for a couple of months. We got a Kobra 3 V2 Combo at work when the pre-order price was $379. We've used it for a little over a month and I liked it so much that I decided to buy one for myself. Obviously prices change over time, but it appears the current typical baseline price is $399 (regardless of what websites say is the full price). The lowest I've seen the price is $350. At $400, I would say this is a good setup. But if you can buy it on sale, I'd say it is the best bang for your buck. Highlights: -Great value for what you get: fast, reliable printer + multi-color/multi-material printing + filament dryer -In general the print quality is great. I have had some challenging prints fail, so it isn't a miracle worker, but for typical prints that are well supported I haven't had any issues. -I've used the faster "sport" mode printing speed and I was surprised that the quality still looked good. But that could be geometry dependent. -I've used dissolvable filament (PolyDissolve S1 PVA) in the ACE Pro to make dissolvable supports. It fed through the ACE just fine. Print results were acceptable. You have to tune the settings for the dissolvable filament, and it is hard to purge enough volume so you don't get any discoloration or swelling of the print itself after soaking the print. -Wireless printing without having to create or sign into an account (LAN mode). Cons: -It comes with a camera and it works, but the image quality and default location is not that great. -It cuts and retracts the filament after each print, so even if you don't change colors between prints you will be wasting a small amount due to purging as it loads the filament. -You need to create a way to catch the purge blobs or they will end up getting everywhere. -The ACE Pro is intended for plastic spools. Some cardboard spools seem to work fine, but others require printing plastic adapter rings otherwise the spool won't feed properly. As a side note, there was a mix-up with my initial order and Anycubic Customer Service did a great job of taking care of me. It is a little hard due to the time difference (from the US) so replies came in the middle of the night, but aside from that I had a very positive experience working with their customer service. ... show more

  • Good little printer
The media could not be loaded. This is my first Anycubic printer and also my first time using a multi-color print head. I'm no stranger to hobby printing on other machines though. This review is coming from the perspective of someone that prints as a hobby, not as a business or side income. I love printing articulated toys, game pieces, elaborate dragons, functional pieces, lithophanes, and pretty much whatever tickles my fancy. Unboxing the printer was relatively straightforward. Building it took another hour or so to make sure I had all the parts organized and connected correctly. I'm mildly annoyed that Anycubic doesn't provide the camera mount for you as a physical item to mount during the installation process. Instead, it's a file on the drive and you are expected to print it from there. So, a bit of a bummer considering how spoiled other printer brands have made their unboxing and assembly process. You'll need to check for firmware updates for both the printer and the ACE Pro and as clunky as the interface feels from the printer itself, that's the easiest way to accomplish updating both. The dryer part of the ACE Pro box is manual and it's software activated. You can't edit anything from the ACE Pro itself, only the Kobra 3 V2, the app, or the software on your computer. Also, the combined footprint of the printer and the box is around 3-4ft so plan for that or make printing an overhead mount your first priority. I've enjoyed the auto-bed leveling. The prints are coming out very clean too. I find the Anycubic slicer software a little clunky so I may just switch over to Orca. Learning how to do the multi-color print settings is going to take a bit of time, especially when it comes to learning how to reduce the sheer volume of waste it produces. All in all, this is a good little bed slinger with some advanced options to make printing more dynamic. It has some quirks with the flinging of waste (a poop basket is REQUIRED) and the noise that part of the printer makes when purging excess filament for changes but it's still a worthwhile machine if you want to take some of the fiddling out of 3D printing and don't want to drop a cool thousand on one of the more expensive options that are available. ... show more

  • Awesome printer/combo!!!
Absolutely love this printer combo! I have made several small prints and currently working on a big print so far none have failed. This printer is so much better than the Creality Ender 3 V3 se that's what I came from. Anycubic makes some really awesome stuff. I love that I can print from my device and watch it while I'm at work. I just wished the camera was 1080p instead of 720p. Hopefully the next update will have that feature. ... show more
