Room for improvement": Instructions need a list of parts to be used. Came with lots of extras. Instructions need updating. It was a wrestling match to get holes lined up with holes in roof. The bars are so thick (vertical) that I had to had to completely remove wing nut on Thule J-hooks to get strapping bar rotated into position. Another wrestling match to hold j-hook upright, strap in position, while trying to get my hands under it to reinstall nut. Also the cross bars are too long. Very tight fit to the opposing socket. That said, I really like the design, and versatility. The little tail that wrap around the gutter to back of cab were much appreciated. Same for bungee loops. It looks like a well integrated stock option.

Holes don’t line up exactly so tweaking and adjusting required. The front bracket is difficult to align resulting in a broken bolt that produces swearing, drinking, drilling out the broken bolt, giving up for the evening and starting fresh the next day. Still couldn’t keep the small gap on the drivers side from closing up so hopefully it doesn’t rain inside my cab. This is the second set I’ve done and the first set didn’t have the broken bolt issue but still problems aligning drivers side front bracket and left a small gap. The first set was done a year ago and over time maybe from sitting in the sun/it laid flat so hoping for the same result this time. Advice is to do the front brackets first and install the rest of the bolts moving back. Looks nice and would likely hold a kayak or two but I wouldn’t put anything too heavy up there. Edited to add I thought one of the bars was a little loose and discovered a missing screw altogether. And the instructions do not give an actual company or person to contact if you need replacement parts

To start off, I believe I recieved a repackaged return item as the instruction sheet says one side has a cross bar and one doesn't. Both of mine did plus the sealant washers were already attached and squashed. The instructions are a joke. There needs to be a parts list of whats included. There were 3 sizes of bolts yet the instructions only identify long and short as a descriptor. There were white plastic tabs that were included in the packet without a word about them. There is no Customer Service number on the insturctions. The bracket hole spacing was too close together on one of the brackets so I had to extend the slot but that was no big deal. The hardest part was to install the 3 long bolts. I initiually starting the three bolts by hand before installing the bracket. The left bracket was mis aligned for the 3 long bolts. I will end up cross threading if I go any further. I will try installing studs into the car gutter and nuts from the top.

These do not fit amazing. From afar the rack looks good right? However, closeups are the key to understanding the issues. Install would be simple IF holes aligned correctly, the rack rails aligned correctly and the front metal brackets did so as well. All of these aspects need to work together and properly to get a correct fit. I spent hours on what should be a 30-60 minute install. The gasket still will not fit flush with the roof sheet metal which I HOPE does not cause issues down the road. I worked and reworked the rack on both sides multiple times to get a better fit but not matter what, it was not ALL fully flush along the entire rail. Sadly, due to the amount of time it took I am beyond the return date and even if you chose to return this you might have issues with the rubber factory gasket actually being able to be reinstalled correctly. I did replace the foam style washers with a rubber for hopefully a more water resistant concept. The actual rails themselves would not even fit without a decent force which further proves there is alignment issues with this product. I would bet that this rack, along with others on this platform and other platforms, is a sellers product that they bought in bulk from Alibaba or a similar manufacturer. I originally purchased a rack off EBAY and returned it due to similar issues and ordered this one hoping it was a more trustworthy one. This product had the same parts and other presented details that seemed to suggest they were from the same manufacturer. Stainless steel looking screws showed signs of rust but not sure where that actually came from? I can't say I would buy this again or recommend it to others. If you do buy it make sure you only start all the screws before tightening them for sure. That is key. The washer aspect is up to you but seemed like a no-brainer to me.

I copy and paste from a prior customer for the reason that is exactly what happen to me here we go... Rack looks nice once installed. The left side didn’t line up right with the factory holes. I think the front mount is the issue, and I have a gap on the that side on the front. DO NOT FOLLOW TORQUE GUIDELINES. They are way too high and will break the plastic. They also included extra sealant and a small Allen wrench, which they don’t mention at all in the instructions as where it’s supposed to be used. There’s some sort of adjustment or locking rod with an Allen head but no reference on what to do with it. Overall decent tor the price. Don’t expect an OEM fit, and expect it to not fit correctly without some modification

I have tried a couple of these racks from other websites and all I got was grief. Parts warped and holes misdrilled nothing lined up and complete junk. This one is fantastic. The quality is great and as good as the manufacturer OEM. You get everything you need for installation including tools and those wonderful waterproof crush washers to keep it from leaking. Everything lined up nicely and total time for installation was about 45 minutes. I could see this taking longer if your not mechanically inclined but not difficult at all. I would definitely recommend this rack for anyone neding one or simply wanting the look to upgrade their Tacoma.
