I have used this AC daily for 3 weeks and I am very pleased with it. The unit arrived several days early. I did need someone to help remove it from the box but decided to do the install solo ( two people would definitely make it easier.) I let it sit upright 24 hours before unboxing and install and if worked great out of the box. Currently using it in a garage and it is a game changer there. The design is a very low profile instead of taking up half of the window. One caution - be sure your window measurements are accurate. The airflow is good but I put a small fan on top to help distribute the air since the room is big. It has multiple settings including a quiet mode and energy saver. The built in dehumidifier is definitely a huge plus in keeping the area comfortable. Only unknown at this point is durability and what the electric bill increase will be. I would buy it again.

down to 1 star because the unit can produce cold air and isn't too loud. Problems with smell and AC controls. Changes temperature by itself for no reason. I put it on 66 so it won't stink, and it changes the temperature on its own to 72 then switches to fan and starts producing a mold smell. Second update: The remote is fairly unresponsive, takes it a few seconds to register command to the unit. Also when I push power on, unit does not remember the last command and resets at 72F. The problem with 72F is it often is on fan only so the bad smell comes in. I manually pushed it to go down in temperature and the physical buttons on the AC did not work, so I had to use the remote to change the temperature down. Update: One problem I'm having is around 72-76F temperature settings the unit smells bad, musky. Since the unit is new and no smells are in my room or outside, I'm assuming it's because of water not evaporated or something like that. I read some units are using more aluminum instead of copper which can allow more bacteria. Either way I'm not sure, but new out of the box the unit at higher temperatures produces bad smells. Pros: This unit is not too loud, I've tried a Midea unit and the Midea is quiet, and this unit is quiet or maybe slightly louder but has a quiet mode that is probably around 40db give or take. I've also tried the standard $150 small window unit and it is very loud so I put it in an area where the volume doesn't matter. Cons: The screws you extend on the outside for support are a bit on the flimsy side relative to the weight of the unit. I'm setting some weight on top of the inside portion in order to balance it out a bit and keep the screws from almost bending from the weight. A picky thing that doesn't really matter: unit does not seem to come with a piece of insulation to shove in the top window crack. Information: So my window only opens to about 13" or so. I have a fold out style window, so I really went nuts and disassembled part of the window in order to get this unit in. So by taking out the bottom glass, and taking out the screens, I was able to get like a 13.5" opening which just barely fit this unit through. So just be aware that if you have a smaller window and might try to fold the U shaped unit through, it can be tricky and you can't get much extra space even utilizing the saddle shape. Might be able to do it from the outside, I'm not sure. I had to just straight shot it through from the inside.

Cools well and installation is super quick. Highly recommend 2 people to lower the unit onto the sill, but otherwise just a 5-10 minute task. No additional tools or assembly needed. While not overly loud, it does have a vibration noise that the Medea unit I have does not. Also, the fan blows all the time even when the desired temperature has been reached. Overall, great buy.

3 issues discovered upon opening this very heavy package: 2 mid-size dents - 1 on top and 1 on left rear back of the air conditioner. In additiin the R front vent adaptor fell off as it was being installed in the window It appeares that the tiny plastic fitting that the vent adaptor attaches to was broken during or before shipping. It really urks me that damaged prodicts are being shipped out to customers. Given that I am a female senior living alone, I had to get help from a neighbor to iinstall such a large & heavy item. I like the features and it cools effectively,, however I dont expect to pay full price after receiving a damaged & expensice item. Wrestling it out of the window & back into the tight packaging is not an option for me. Therefore I'm demamding a substantial disvount.

Received item damaged doesn’t cool very good at all. Been on for two days. Can’t even get the room down below 74° and it’s set at 62 fan speeds up when you put your hand in front of it and then goes back down to a lower speed, even though it’s set on high, doesn’t make any sense And the stupid drain plug is not mentioned in the listing telling you that you must drain the unit of water and it has to be done like every couple hours

The media could not be loaded. I really want to like this unit. It does a good job cooling down my living room area. My main problem with it is the fan noise. It’s louder at the quiet setting and as I increase the fan speed it get quieter.
