This combines a few tech things, older and newer, such as the printing trick for the see through wood grain, a nice aesthetic, a digital FM radio, a clock, Bluetooth (Named after an ancient Viking king.) and wireless charging into a well integrated alarm clock radio package. I am a technophile by nature and a technologist by trade and I know that just because you can apply technology or combine a few in a single product it does not mean that you should do it because the result is often sub par or trips over itself trying to do too many things. PROS: Display blends into the wood grain overlay on the front Setting time and alarms is very straight forward Digital FM is spot on and very clear Speaker, if turned up is loud and decent clarity Illumination is easy to adjust, even if you are in a darkened or totally dark room. Qi charging. USB charging plug in the back if needed CONS: The only Con I might have is that the speaker is fully exposed with no physical protection to avoid damage.

This would gave gotten 5 stars but 1) If the power goes out, the backup batteries you put in it only make it so you don't have to enter the time again when the power comes back on but the alarm still will not go off while the power is out. 2) The beep option is horrible. You can only choose from the alarm being a local FM radio station or one big loud short piercing single beep that just repeats. The volume of the beep does not start low and increase like every other alarm clock on the planet and there is no volume option to control it. With the cons being out of the way, the pros outweigh them: 1) My last alarm was so light weight that the weight of the power cord pulled it sideways. This one is solid and chunky like a block of wood and stays where you put it. 2) Having the big fast wireless charging pad on the top allowed me to get rid of my wireless charging station, freeing up limited real estate on my night stand. Don't get me wrong though. This is a large alarm clock. 3) The red light display is great for sleep and fully dimmable. 4) The radio reception is surprisingly good for an alarm clock and the sound is better than expected. 5) The alarm off button is on the top so you don't have to reach around to the back like some others.

I really really like this alarm clock. It has mny features I don't use or need but the ones I do are important to me. The first being the brightness. This clock allows you 5 different brightness settings at a push of a button which allows me at night to dim it down so it doesn't light up the room but is still easily read. I also like the battery back up feature which ensures that all my settings are saved during any power failure and automatically reinstated when power is restored. The clock's features don't function during an outage (i.e. no alarm) but once power is restored, it's business as usaual. No time loss. Excellent. The last feature is a nice convienince and that is the rechargeable capability of the cell phone. Nice to have by the bedside and fully charged next morning. As I said, many of the other features are unimportantant to me other than having access to a radio station as my wake up call. Highly recommend this classy looking alarm clock.

This clock checked all the boxes for me when I wanted to replace an old bedside CD player. The display is large and easy for me to read without glasses. No date, temperature, or humidity — just the time. The brightness adjustment is fantastic; going smoothly from off to bright enough to serve as a night light. I use it at almost its dimmest setting so it doesn't disturb my sleep and I can just make it out in daylight. The plastic woodgrain appearance is ok; realistic enough from a short distance. Wireless charging works easily with my Pixel 7a phone. The extra USB port in the back is handy for charging anything else. Bluetooth connectivity is easy to set up, and the speaker is just fine if you don't need a stereo experience. Volume adjustment on the back is odd, as others have mentioned, but I don't use the built-in FM radio so I can adjust volume on my phone. The size is great, taking up little of my dresser top.
