Took a bit of work but this works great. I have had it for a month now and still very happy with this purchase. FM radio is not the best. However, I listen to a lot of streaming music anyway. This fit perfect in my 4Runner and it is hard to tell it is aftermarket hardware. Price was very fair.

To start off, there are no instructions for install included with the product. It’s beautiful looking and once installed your vehicle looks and feels like a modern day car with Apple car play or android auto. However, if you’ve got a brain and can assess what your normal plugs look and attach to, then you’ll have no problem installing this in about an hour. It took me longer because I was trying to find similar product reviews online and none exist but if I had to guess this would be similar to the Dasaita model. Second, the normal brackets that are installed on your oem unit do not fit this new head unit. I didn’t want to drill into it, so I removed the side (L) and (R) brackets from the oem unit and just mounted them back into the home place where they screwed in on the car (I didn’t attach to new unit). Do remove your hvac vents from your old unit with the small screw driver they provide in the bag and make sure when you plug into the new unit, you start by making sure the bottom clips of the vent attaches first. Take the top plate (the cover that sits near the clock top of the radio) piece of your oem unit you unscrewed and screw into new unit. Plug all your wires in and take the time to try and read the diagram they provided listing the cables and their function. When you’ve plugged everything in, place your new head unit back up to test out your power, volume, and back up camera. Now that you’ve got everything by to work, remember you don’t have a bracket attached to your new unit which is ok, mine is pretty stable. Just make sure you push all the wires into the center to hide behind the unit. I pushed the antenna and gps module in there as well because I didn’t want any wires coming out of the unit and attached to my dash. I left the mic unplugged because I tested some calls and everyone said they can hear me. When you mount your new head unit into place, total screws you would have placed back in are 6. (2) screws to mount the top plate and (4) screws to mount the left and right brackets just to try and prevent the unit and wires from moving around. The only cons I have are listed below which is the reason why I gave it 4 stars. But overall the unit looks amazing, can’t beat it for what aftermarket at your local Best Buy has to offer, and anything is better than the original (I have the TRD Pro) and this is still better. CONS: 1. Can’t figure out how to get the steering controls to work 2. Oem brackets do not fit on this unit. If you want brackets possibly order some based on the model year of your vehicle. 3. It took a while to figure out to get reverse camera to work you have to change the output under reverse settings to “ntsc” 4. No instructions for install 5. You have extra screws left over and extra wiring from your old unit but it’s ok everything seems to work 6. Only 1 plug left over from the car that I couldn’t find where it attaches to the new head unit 7. No 32gb SD card was provided even tho it said it was 8. Don’t know how to get the navi to work if no simcard was provided PROS: 1. Great resolution screen (scratch resistant) 2. Apple CarPlay is fast even being wireless 3. Internal memory has some existing files 4. If you mount the usb cable I’m sure you can somehow plug in a usb drive loaded with movies and watch as you drive. 5. Great price, just buy it and try it. I went in between the dasaita and this one because it was $300 cheaper and honestly it looks just as great, similar, but my wallet is happier. More money for my twice a week gas station visits. If anyone figure out how to get the steering controls to work. Please message me. Enjoy the unit!

Although this unit can be made to work and looks nice, it’s not worth the hassle. Constantly losing connection, lack of flexibility, upcharge for different themes, and general slow. Spend more to get the better unit.

Great radio and works for my 2017 4Runner trd off road premium. Lots of extra connectors but everything was mostly plug and play. You will have extra connectors for the xm antenna that cannot be used. Mine required slight modification to the underside of the a/c vents with a dremel in order to fit but this was not a big deal to me. Car play works great. Takes away the slight Bluetooth audio delay with videos that the OEM unit had. I installed this with a Rago fab mount which holds fine even though this unit just has tabs holding it in.

Few things wrong with this unit, first the OEM brackets can’t attach to the new aftermarket one, thus leaving the unit just hanging instead of screwed on. Second, I had plugs that couldn’t plug into anything but it looks like it didn’t affect anything. Third is that there is no instructions but it’s kinda already plug in play, so may take a little to figure it out if you’re not tech savvy ish. Fourth is that there was no USB connection for me to plug into to have that option but regardless didn’t bother me since I don’t need it. Sound quality seems to be okay, I know some say it’s better now but even after messing with the settings for awhile I just didn’t make a good/bad impression on me. The good so far, it’s been in for 1 day and it works great, screen is nice and functional is not bad. It’s a little laggy but that’s to be expected since it’s aftermarket.

For anyone having issues with the backup camera, Go to settings. Go to reverse ,scroll down to reversing system selection and change it to NTSC instead of 720p and that will fix your issues
