Central heat broke during Covid, I did not want repair guys crawling around and I live in central CA...so coldest we get to is low 30's. I bought 4 of these and plugged each into a different circuit set the thermostat to trigger about 68-72 and put on the "econo-mode" (medium). During the day I turn them off and run these at night with 1/2 the house sectioned off (blanket covering hallway) WORKS GREAT and power bill about $75 dollars higher x 3 months = totally worth it!!!! Fan are small and compact, and well built for $18 dollars each! My stupid old lasko remote tower junk was HUGE and did not last a season! these are old "turn dial" no digital display junk to break here, no timer turning off in the middle of the night either so *I get auto heat until I SHUT IT OFF*! It has a depress button on the underside so in the event of a "tip-over" it will turn off (simple & works) The fan does move the air so it is not "wisper quit" ....don't put this in your bedroom put it in a bathroom around a few corners and walls and point the front (warm air outcoming) toward a hallway to distribute the heat among the Area (silent and toasty) :)- 4 heaters for $100...gets me through the winter!!! running for a month so far no issues with any of them!! goodbye 2020.....hello 2021 THANK GOD!! UPDATE: I liked these so much I bought two more on black friday!! I haven't even bothered to fix our central heater because these heat so well, I live in CA so we have mild winter and its only about 2 1/2 months of cold. (the Air conditioning is far more valuable here and it works just fine so I am waiting it out for some more years) TIP for long heavy use: buy 2 instead of 1 and run in "ECO" mode...I don't know if it is more efficient but it is quieter and way easier on the heater not to be push so hard on high! gives far better heat distribution and eliminates any cold spots...identify different circuits in the house and one per circuit on eco is totally fine. lastly NEVER USE EXTENSION CORDS!! only plug into the wall outlet or you overheat the wire and heater leading to fire hazard! these are great little heaters but run on low and run two and only plug into wall! good luck

Now that I've had a full winter season to have hands on experience with this little powerhouse of a heater, I can give a proper review. We get winter temperatures down in the teens and single digits (°F). I work indoors and outdoors, and often when I come back inside, I'm extremely cold. I've found that most times, I can use the 750 watt setting and it puts out plenty of heat! However, there are times when I use the 1500 watt setting and then it (really) pumps out the heat! I've found that even when I'm extremely cold, when using the 1500 watt setting, I don't have to use it for longer than 5 minutes or so, before I'm plenty warm enough, and can switch back down to the 750 watt setting. When in the 750 watt setting, (as you're looking at the front of the heater) only the right side of the heating coils heat up, leaving cool air coming out of the left side, making a blend of nice, warm air. Obviously, when you switch over to the 1500 watt setting, both sides of the heating coils heat up, to give you the full capacity of the heater, which is probably more than enough heat for most people. On the bottom of the heater is a safety switch, which, when the heater isn't firmly planted on a flat surface, will immediately turn the heater off until it is on a flat surface again. It has two dial type switches at the top; one is a smooth turning dial for the preferred temperature setting, and the other a notched type dial with (Off), (Fan Only), (Heat Setting 1 -750W-) and (Heat Setting 2 -1500W-). I am able to easily fit this heater into my backpack, and is very light, to carry to and from work. If I'm using the heater right up to the end of my shift, I've found that if I put the heater in the (Fan Only) mode, it will completely cool the heater off for safe transport in about a minute and a half. As as personal work/home heater, I love it! I've used it almost every day of winter 2019 into 2020, and I would definitely buy it again. Don't buy the larger, more expensive heaters if you don't really need to heat a large area. This heater is perfect for under a desk, or near you on the floor. * UPDATE 2024 I purchased another one of these little heaters back in Jan. 2023, and today (Dec 2024) it just died on me. The safety, off-switch on the bottom broke about 2 months ago, luckily the heater kept working. I don't know if the failure is linked to the safety off-switch, but one minute the heater was on and running, and the next it wasn't. I'm going to have to really think about whether or not to replace this one. Money is tight, and as much as I love these little heaters, if they aren't going to last even 2 years (preferably 3), I think I'm done with them
