I’ve been using the ANCEL HD8000 Heavy Duty Truck Scanner for a few weeks now, and I have to say, it’s an excellent tool for anyone working with diesel trucks or buses. I have updated my review from one star to four... It's not 5 because of the issues I had BUT I was finally contacted by their support team and they assured me that they could have walked me through the issues I had and that it is capable of doing what it's advertised to do... They have also said that because of the issues I had they are going to work on improving their instructions that come with the unit and they will be changing the way they do holidays to make sure there is always support when you need! I'm happy with their service they provided even if it was a little late! Absolute trash! I have a 2020 freightliner cascadia with a dd15 so it's not new but it's not old either and it's the most common truck on the road but the only thing I could get this system to do is pull and clear codes! It gave me an error when I tried to force regen... And I couldn't find any option to view live data or program the ecm (change speed)... It could only do one thing that it advertised! When I contacted Ancel for support on 2/13/26 they informed me that their staff was out of the office for the Chinese Spring Festival... That's not supposed to start until the 17th and it goes for 16 DAYS! So getting customer support is ridiculous... By the time they would get back to me my return window would be ending so I just boxed it up and sent it back! Do not waste your time and money on this garbage...

This large hard case organizer is a great travel companion piece or practical storage solution to keep devices safe and in one place. The case is a generous size compared to similar products. At 12.5-inches long, 8.5-inches wide, and 4.75-inches deep, it allows for a variety of versatile uses. I will personally use this case to store the myriad of live-streaming equipment such as adapters, webcams, and cords that otherwise are split into multiple cases. There is a large pocket built into the case, but admitted being so shallow, it won’t hold much without the contents falling out. I will think thicker cables will stay put. The center divider has a pocket as well, where most things will stay inside this one. The main compartment is very large and roomy allowing for a number of devices and uses. While this is a “hard case” it does have quite a bit of give to it, meaning it would not stand up to “crush” damage. Finally, there is a distinct “straight from the factory” smell that hangs around. I’ve let it air out for a few weeks and it won’t go away. Overall I do like this case. It is really convenient for keeping my streaming equipment all together in one case (capture cards, cables, flash drives, etc.) For me, it’s the size that I appreciate most.

Great Hard shell case with a protective interior.. Just add a few silica packets to keep the moisture controlled and you'll have a great case to store some meters, testers and leads, or whatever else may need a home. I have a few other Ancel hard shell cases and meters and they all work very well, and this one is no exception...

I'm a professional diesel mechanic and I own 4 other diagnostic scan tools from Ancel so I was pretty excited to get this one after seeing their fancy presentation on what it can do and all the features. I didn't order it from Amazon, I got it directly from Ancel. I use my Ancel V6 Pro HD more than any other scan tool or laptop. It is unbeatable for the price but has some gaps in coverage, like all other scan tools. So I received this tool and was impressed with the case. Much better than previous models where the tool barely fits back in the case. That's about where my enthusiasm ends. The tablet itself feels so cheaply made it's like a kids toy. No rubberized edge or corner protection and no screen protector like my other Ancel scanners. I own an HD3600 that is a scanner only but it's awesome because it shows the topography and allows me to pinpoint which module the fault originates from as well as just being able to quickly check an engine light and clear codes. The HD8000 is supposed to be an expansion of capabilities on that same topography but I haven't found it yet if it is there. I plugged into a 2002 International 4300 with a DT466, which is always difficult to diagnose because of it's age and crappy electrical system. It was mediocre at best. Not really an improvement on the HD3600. Next I plugged into a 2007 International Prostar with a Cummins ISX 15. It kept showing that the truck was a medium duty truck with a DT466 engine. Next I tried to go to the engine selection and it would only go to the obd pin diagnostics but would not go into engine fault codes or diagnostics. So I don't know if I am missing something but it's not at all what Ancel describes in their advertising. Lastly, I connected to a 2018 Peterbilt with a MX13 engine. It worked extremely well for that application so it may still be worth keeping for that alone. It had many diagnostic tests available and also calibration apps for after treatment, turbk, maintenance, injector codes, fuel system tests, etc. It's possible that future updates will fix the gaps in coverage because thr V6pro HD allows me to do things that Insite won't let me do. It also has an issue with connectivity that none of my other Ancel tools have. The Bluetooth disconnects if I try to crank a truck and will not reconnect. It gives messages that I am not connected. I thought I could remedy that by connecting the supplied usb cable. Nope! Then it just keeps telling me to disconnect the usb because the Bluetooth is connected and to only connect after Bluetooth disconnects. Maybe my tool is defective but this is not acceptable for doing diagnostic tests where I have to crank the engine or sometimes just spin it over to get a pressure reading and the tool must remain connected and active so I can see the realtime readings! The other concern I have is when I look at the applications in the diagnostic menu, there are not many choices, especially considering that my other Ancel scanners have a vast coverage list. This one only shows the American heavy truck manufacturers and the engine list only shows Cummins, Paccar, Detroit, and Detroit Pro(whatever that means). In summary, I am on the fence as to whether I keep it or send it back. To anyone considering buying this scanner, wait until the problems get fixed or find a different scanner such as the V6pro HD or the X7, which I also have. The Can3 diagnostics is the biggest reason I bought it but the big gaps in coverage is very disappointing. It's almost like this scanner was built by an entirely different company from Ancel and the quality that I am accustomed to with their tools considering the price point. In whold they have been an indispensable tool in my business, giving me enough options to diagnose all of the various trucks and engines that I work on and also being versatile enough in my road service business to help 98% of the trucks on hhe road. I also have a laptop with Jpro, Insite, Cat ETechnician, Freightliner/Detroit software, etc. but the laptop is not quick or convenient to use so it's reserved for indepth diagnostics for shop or customer location.

I have many Ancel products and some, like battery analyzers that didn't come with a case. I use this case for those products. It's a soft yet hard case that does not deform and protects your electronic goods. Easy to use and a great value for the money. As I mention it's functional in the sense that you can use it for other Ancel tools. Has a nice soft separator inside so your screens are protected and is water and wear resistant. My stuff gets used a lot and these cases save it from damage. Recommend this!!
