FX2000 great scanner for the money
Great DTC scanner the FX2000 I’ve had since 2019. Updates are available through the manufacturer that a great feature for free. I’ve registered my scanner with ANCEL. The only problem I’m having is if you accidentally erase the SD card you end up with an electronic brick. The original software in the initial download that gets the device operational is very, very important. I’ve contacted ANCEL twice to get the original download information to get the scanner operational again to no avail. Customer support is non existent at this point. Do Not Make This Same Mistake Erasing The SD Card. You will get a warning that the device cannot read the SD card contents. Yes, I’ve downloaded the latest updates and in-zipped the file and firmware. I can see the un-zipped files on the SD card. If you accidentally erase the card thinking the new update will take over, you’re in for a disappointing realization that the scanner will no longer work. ANCEL please reach out to me to help!

Great Diagnostic Tool Without Breaking the Ban
I picked this up to have a dedicated scan tool on hand, and it’s been a great addition to the toolbox. Setup was simple, plug it in and it’s ready to go. The menu is easy to navigate, and it pulls codes quickly without a bunch of guesswork. I like that it gives clear descriptions instead of just numbers, which makes it a lot more user-friendly. It’s been helpful for checking engine codes, clearing them, and getting a better idea of what’s going on before deciding on a repair. For basic diagnostics and even some more in-depth info, it does exactly what most people need. Build quality feels solid, and the screen is easy to read, even in less-than-ideal lighting. This is a great option if you want more capability than a cheap code reader, but don’t want to spend a fortune on a professional scan tool. Bottom line, reliable, easy to use, and a great value for DIY and garage use.

It can be confusing to update the scanner libraries and firmware
Big Pluses: 1. The scanner is great, I was able to get very detailed ABS system data and determine exactly what was broken in my ABS EBCM controller and not in my sensors. This was an intermittent fault that was causing my front brakes to drag. I could also see chassis codes and ECM codes that were very useful in troubleshooting. This scanner will not load or calibrate a new EBCM but it still enabled me to know exactly what part I needed and not get ripped off. 2. It does come with a micro SD card already installed. which you need for updates. Small Cons: The website was easy to use and register so I could download firmware and libraries. You install an app on your laptop then download the libraries. Next you then plug in the USB and use the app to install files onto the sd card. Reinstall that into the scanner and then plug the scanner into the computer and run the updates through the app on the computer. Once it starts the progress bars will tell you when it is done, dont shut if off too soon, you can brick it. The pdf guide for updates did not match perfectly to how I was able to get it to work, maybe it was my laptop on Windows 11, I dunno, but it would not detect my scanner until the sd card with the updates was installed, then I could see it with the app. It is worth the small price IMO.

Easy to work with and an excellent product.
I have a 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup. The passenger side seatbelt light came on and would not go off. I bought this Ancel FX2000 to see if I could fix it. I am not much of an automotive mechanic, but I was able to hook this up and in 5 minutes I had turned off the seatbelt light. It would have cost me $150 for a diagnostic fee at the dealer plus what ever cost that they probably would have declared needed to be done. I for sure recommend this product.

Easy to Use - Reads Most Vehicle Information - Very Clear 4.0 TFT Screen - Free Updates
I am impressed with this OBD2 scanner / diagnostic tool, especially for the price. I work in the powersports industry (motorcycles, ATV, UTV, etc.) and the comparative type tools we use cost many times more than this one and most have less functionality. If you are an auto technician or even just a do-it-yourselfer and have a modern day vehicle then a OBD2 scanner / diagnostic tool is a must. There are lots of brands and models available for purchase that range from super cheap to rather expensive. Obviously as you go up in price you usually get more functionality you get. An inexpensive scanner will most likely have a low-resolution screen and just scan for DTC codes and offer no definitions of the codes. Also cheaper scanners will most likely not have a live data stream and will not have any recording capabilities. These budget scanners also may not offer updates and could possibly not work with later model vehicles. More expensive OBD2 scanners / diagnostic tools usually have higher-resolution color screens, offer code DTC definitions, are updatable, and perform more functions than just reading and erasing DTC codes such as allow you to view live data streams an even take snapshots and record this data for later playback. I bought this ANCEL FX2000 OBD2 Scanner / Diagnostic Tool as it has a higher-resolution screen, has built-in code DTC definitions, is updatable through their website, and it also gives you live data readings for most of the OBD2 monitored systems on your vehicle. And it has the ability to capture and record streaming data. Before first use of the ANCEL FX2000 I went to the AncelTech website (no longer AncelDirect), opened a free account, and downloaded the most recent free updates directly to the ANCEL FX2000 using the included USB cable. Note: You can also update the ANCEL FX2000 using the included USB thumb drive. With the latest updates installed I was then able to plug the ANCEL FX2000 into the OBD2 diagnostic port on my truck and start testing all the functions. I didn't read the manual and I was able to navigate through all the settings and screens fairly quickly as the button layout is fairly intuitive and the tool five you onscreen prompts. (More complex diagnostics and running graphs will require that I do a little reading first.) I've only used this diagnostic tool for a short time so far and I am thoroughly impressed. The rubberized grips on the case make it easy to hold and the selection and navigation buttons are also rubberized making navigation easy even when wearing mechanics gloves. The 4.0 TFT screen is clear and crisp and the information screens are logically laid out. Plus the wealth of information that this scanner/diagnostic tool reads is kind of amazing, especially considering the price. The only slight negative I can think of is I wish a case was included. I hope you found this information helpful. And as with all my reviews if I experience any issues or problems I’ll update this review.

Missing quite a few U.S. popular Vehicles
I had high hopes for this unit, unfortunately those hopes were quickly diminished. After the FX2000 arrived, I browsed through the manufacturers and their vehicles and there were ALOT not even listed. I have been a mechanic for over 35 years, so I know most American and quite a few European cars. I purchased this for my car (2021 Corvette Stingray Z51 HTC) and to use in my friends repair shop. CORVETTES ARE NOT EVEN LISTED! After seeing the "LACK" of American vehicle choices, I figured the new 2022 update would cover that issue. It was quite large for a scanner update. After the update was completed, due to the update size, I was expecting all vehicle issues to be fixed. I was WRONG. There were a couple vehicles added in each section but it still was missing alot. Even more shocking alot of the most "Popular" cars on the American side are not listed at all, cars that you see on the road everyday, and still no Corvette under Chevrolet?? You can use the basic functions of the scanner with any car that has an OBD2 port, but for the "Advanced" Diagnostics, you need to select a vehicle manufacturer and model, this is where the problem is. If I wanted basic Diagnostics, I would have bought a basic plug in OBD2 Scanner that plugs in and goes to my phone over Bluetooth. My BlueDriver is leaps and bounds ahead of the FX2000. For the price of his you should be getting MUCH, MUCH MORE. Save your money and go with a different brand because you have 50/50 odds your car will even be listed on this scanner. If your looking for U.S. vehicles only, I suggest BlueDriver. The BlueDriver has everything and more than this unit and you can email your reports. With this unit,byou have to connect to a computer using a USB cable. I do not work for BlueDriver, it was my favorite scanner but I lost it somewhere and the FX2000 listing looked promising so I thought I would try a different brand. Big Mistake. I know this review is under the name "lisa" but I'm her husband and mistakenly purchased the FX2000 while logged into her account. Trust me when I say save your money or get more money for a better scanner. Myself, I'm going back to my trusted brand. BlueDriver, which by the way has wireless updating and more features than most high dollar scanners. Save your money,take your time and do research on the scanner you end up buying. A item listing isn't always what's stated "Don't Believe The Hype" research and offsite reviews are your best bet. Thanks for listening (reading).

Great Scanner, Poor Quality Control
Let me start of by saying that this product is very nice. It feels well made and has great features for the price. Registering the device is relatively simple, just follow all he steps in the guide and you will be fine. Now for the only complaint I have about this product is the quality of the display. As you can see in this picture the top right of the screen has light bleed (white semi circle) in it out of the box. Now it doesn't take away from the device in a major way but it is still inexcusable for a new out of the box product to already be showing signs of damage. If it wasn't for the bad display I would easily give this a 5/5 star review but for the time being it will remain a 3/5. Should this discourage you from buying it? I would say no, it is still an amazing product for the money but just be aware that it may come with some fault out of the box.
