šŸš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The product, likely an aquatic filter system, receives mixed reviews focusing on its ease of setup and effectiveness in improving tank conditions to issues with suction, maintenance frequency, and durability. One user praises its simplicity and performance, while others point out its inadequacy in larger setups without additional units, and one faces significant durability issues leading to property damage.

Pros

  • šŸ‘ Easy to set up and makes noticeable improvements in tank conditions
  • šŸ‘Œ Filter stages are easy to load and unload, with mostly durable ABS plastic construction
  • šŸ”„ Built-in handle pockets for easy carrying during maintenance

Cons

  • šŸ‘Ž Inadequate suction and frequent maintenance required, especially for smaller models
  • ā˜¹ļø Durability concerns with parts disintegrating and causing significant property damage
  • šŸ˜• Reported quality control issues, such as flimsy filter stage baskets and incorrect assembly
  • 🚫 A reported case of a complete product failure leading to extensive water damage

Should I Buy It?

Given the mixed feedback, the decision to purchase this filter system should be made with caution. It seems suitable for smaller aquarium setups or as a temporary solution. However, if you own a larger aquarium or are seeking a long-term, reliable filtration solution, considering alternative products with more consistent positive feedback on durability and performance might be advisable, especially to avoid potential property damage.

  • Powerful, quiet, affordable turtle filter
Size: 660GPH-UV
This filter is underrated. I've been using it for over a year now for my juvenile snapping turtle—who is a messy eater and poops a lot—and this filter keeps his water crystal clear all the time. It has also handled the bioload from a bunch of guppies that keep reproducing, since my turtle has decided that fish are friends, not food. I appreciate that the filter isn't the size of a garbage can like the Fluval, and there's plenty of space to fill it with various types of filter media. I also find it easier to clean than the hang-on-back (HOB) filters I use in my other aquariums. I simply take it out to the side of the house, rinse everything with a hose, refill it, plug the hoses back in, and it's good to go for several months. It's virtually silent—the bubbler in the tank is much louder. I was initially concerned it wouldn't be able to keep up with my turtle, but I couldn't justify the cost of the Fluval when this one is a third of the price and has a higher GPM (gallons per minute) rating. While I’m sure the UV output has degraded over time, the light is still functional. ... show more

  • Great!
Size: 265GPH-UV
I regret not buying this sooner! My tank was in a long cycle of algae and smelled bad. I had tried many things. Did one last 50% water change and hooked the canister up. The water was clear within a few hours. The circulation in the tank is good and I ran the UV light for a few hours the first two days and will probably only need an hour a day moving forward. I have only had it for a few days so we will see how it does long term. Slightly overloaded tank, 30 gallons, with two 10 inch goldfish. Love it so far and the fish are much more active now :) ... show more

  • Worthless destructive machine from hell
Purchase this filter system in November 2022.The prime pump handle disintegrated into pieces in February, just days after the return window closed. One month later March 2023, the machine is no longer producing clear water. I have a bacteria outbreak as a result of this. All new media was used in the last cleaning process, and the system was washed as directed as usual. Did not stop it from having particles and algae blooms producing from the filtration system itself. Three just assemblies and three re-assemblies and cleanings and replacement of medias. Again, I finally get it to produce clear water. as time is going on, and these repeated cleanings that had to take place, the machine is physically, wearing fast cracks are developing on the fasteners, and the prime pump is further disintegrating with the post reducing down to a nub. April 2023. I woke one morning in my bedroom to find the laminate wood flooring bubbled all the way across the floor. I immediately assumed it was a exterior underground leak from the sprinkler system outside, but I was wrong. As I entered my dining area, I noticed the fish tank was down about 3 inches in water. That’s right this piece of crap destructive machinery that wasted my $140 plus all the extra media I had to spend out for when it started to malfunction and not properly filter. The system, has now incurred the cost of replacing my bedroom flooring, not to mention the wall between the dining room, and the bedroom . The canister was leaking from the seal line all the way around the top of the canister with water coming out from the prime post area primarily. So I believe the water is leaking out of the pot, prime post down into the top of the canister where the motor is and just leaking out the sides down through the latch locks . So 4 inches of water in a 55 gallon tank that math I don’t know how to do to estimate how many gallons came out that I would I would guesstimate at least 10 to 15 gallons of water. The return window has closed in January and I am simply going to cut my losses and move onto a different brand. Amosijoy has lost my confidence as a consumer looking for a reliable product. A properly working filtration system is one thing I seek, but any further problems in my life such as thousands of dollars of floor and wall repairs is unacceptable . I will never buy another product of theirs, and I highly advise anyone seeking for filtration products to overlook this brand and to move on to other reputable sources. ... show more

  • Bang for your buck
Size: 225GPH-UV
The media could not be loaded. Don’t mind the video of the tank being dirty looking just did a water change and agitated the sand. Yes there air in the line so it squeaks fixed now First time with a canister filter after useing HOB or internal ones and look I am new to aquarium stuff so take with a grain of salt. My tank is a 29gallon with rosy reds Minos (turtle food/ survivors) 10 albino Cory Dora’s catfish 3.5inch painted turtle Yes he will eat the fish but got lucky with the Cory’s dose not bother them to much/eaten none so far Some live plants adding more I got the 225gph(gallons per hour) you 2 stage one(two layers for bio media So far for a few days it is good with no reference to compare with. Hoses are think hard to work with kinda but not frustrating or anything set up is simple direction are ok but it’s not rocket science worse you gunna do is leak water a lot but. I will say the flow rate is great but has sowed signs of it diminishing not sure if it clogged or what took it apart and it’s good so maybe it’s faulty not sure but besides that it works to what you need I would not recommend going with Max tank size for this which is a 55 gallon just because flow rate might die overtime and become weaker. Not sure if that affects much or not but for a 30 gallon is what I have and it’s fine no cons really besides flow rate it hit or miss it seems like. ... show more

This filter is very quiet, has a powerful flow rate and will keep your tank crystal clear! Never going back to those ugly filters that hang off the side again!

Size: 225GPH-UV
The instructions are very poorly written. After figuring it out, thee puzzle, it worked well. Much quieter than SunSun canister, which I have replaced twice already after 2 years This price is about the same as Team U
