It is sturdy, and fairly simple to assemble, however there were 3 holes on the support beams that would not line up. It’s possible if I had two more people helping to push in the sides it may line up but it would take some serious pressure. It’s nothing that will effect that the sturdiness of the bed from what I can tell, but it was frustrating to fight with. Had to use a hammer on part of the headboard leg because it was bent. Also needed vice grips to hold one of the legs to the bent bar so I could get the nut and bolt attached- also needed a socket because the little wrench they sent was the wrong size for the nuts it was supposed to hold. All in all it took me about an hour to put it together because of fighting with the bent pieces and holes that wouldn’t line up- but I did it by myself as a 5’3 female so it’s certainly doable for just about anyone. The legs had a bit of rust due to the plastic bags and humidity of warehouse. It mostly wiped off and a little bit of scrubbing got the rest to wear it was noticeable. I’ll update the review once my son has had a chance to use the bed for a while. The headboard fabric is nice enough and looks good for the price. All in all not unhappy with my purchase but slightly frustrated with the rust and bent parts. ... show more

This is definitely a solid frame. It wasn't too difficult to assemble, but it was more work than my previous bed frame took. My only complaint, a minor one, was there wasn't the specified number of 'B' screws. I believe there were 8, but there were supposed to be 16. Since these secured the interior frame that holds the mattress, it didn't really matter much, as gravity and weight secure them just as well. After sleeping on the bed a few days now, it doesn't make any noise. It's a nice frame for the price. EDIT: I just received an email from the seller. They offered to send extra screws. I appreciate the follow up. The frame still is holding well without them. :) ... show more

I have used this bed for several months now and it has proven to be a good purchase. The frame is stable and doesn't shake like some other metal frame beds do. I am a heavy guy and it shows no sign of straining from the load on it. It did come with two of the bolts missing. I could see it being damaged if kids were jumping on it all the. But if used in a normal manner, I could see this lasting for a lifetime. ... show more

    • You get what you pay for: Cheap but Questionable Quality

Purchased this a few months ago because of how cheap it was. Tried assembling it a week ago and it was incredibly unpleasant. Instructions are confusing: mine referenced screws that were not the correct length or did not have the correct amount of them. This means you have to guess a bit which screws you need to use, and may end up short as the last step is screwing in the metal bars that hold the bed: if you guess wrong, you won't have enough screws to screw them all in. Also doesn't help that the instructions are confusing, particularly the order in which stuff needs to be screwed together on top of the aforementioned incorrect info. You can do it with on person but man is it a pain. QC seems to be non-existent. Several holes were not the right size, which made screwing stuff in a bit difficult (have to angle it and prey it goes in). One of the parts that you need to slide in for the foot of the headrest was bent, so I had to use a long screw driver and some force to unbend it and get the other part in. Also, the horizontal metal bars that are at the end (two long pieces not attached to anything else) would not work with the included nut and hex bolt noted in the instructions. Hole is too big and the nut just goes straight through (the metal was also bent pretty severely) Again, price is great, but you get what you pay for. You may end up with a product that's beaten up, missing parts, and ultimately that you can't fully assemble. ... show more

I'm 6 feet, 155-160lbs. I worried about some reviews saying this product doesn't hold the mattress in place. Maybe my mattress weighs more or I'm as skinny as light as Jack the Pumpkin King, but my mattress sits undisturbed on this frame. I also flail in my sleep and my mattress doesn't move. This frame is sturdy and doesn't creak for me when I shift or drop myself on the bed. The cushioned headboard adds a nice touch and by acting as support to my pillow mountain I use to rest my neck/back. This twin XL frame fit seamlessly with my twin XL mattress.
