  • Fits my truck perfectly.
Size: 10 Inch
I like this box for the fit. It fits in my truck under the back seat as advertised and is solid. It does not have a lot of volume, but I just looked for speakers that advertised as needing cubic space that included this box and had clearance. I purchased the SKAR SDR-10-D4's and they fit flawlessly. I plan on running them in a 4 ohm configuration, as the Pioneer Premier PR-S3000spl amp I have states it runs 800 watts RMS at 4 ohms and is not 1 ohm stable. Skar support told me running two of these subs in a 4 ohm configuration, would allow them to run 1200 watts RMS. I do not need that much bass, so I think this combination will really work for me. I can keep the amp turned down, which will allow it to run cool and the speakers as well. Due to the closeness of the seat bottom to the speaker surrounds on these speakers, I will have to raise the seat support up about 1/2" to provide clearance. A normal sub with a normal size surround will have no issues, but these have a really large rubber surround that just installed in the box, touches the seat bottom. I did wish this box was sealed a little better on the inside. Some of the joints do not appear to have sealant in them. It is solidly built, but I just wish to see the sealant on all joints. I will apply silicone sealant myself to ensure there are no leaks. Not a big deal, but just a concern of my own. ... show more

  • Nice box!
Size: 10 Inch
I always read reviews and of course focus on the negatives, but sometimes, you just can’t go by negative reviews, you just gotta take the chance in a purchase and I’m sure glad i did. This box, especially for the price, is very nice. If you’re hesitant on buying this, don’t be. I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT model, with just the basic radio and four speakers. Didn’t have stock amp, navigation, or steering wheel controls. So i purchased and installed a Sony double din head unit, purchased the iDatalink module and harness, Kicker CS series highs, 3-1/2’s in dash with bass blockers (running off head unit itself), 6x9’s in front doors, and 6-1/2’s in rear doors (just had to drill holes for the 6-1/2’s) with a Kicker CXA360.4 amp pushing the door speakers. I went with two 10” Kicker CompRT shallow mount subs with the Kicker CXA 800.1 mono amp running those. (All from Crutchfield btw). Let me tell you, this thing is stupid loud. Best thing i like about it, is that it sounds great no matter what is playing, country, rock, heavy metal, hip hop, doesn’t matter it all sounds good. All the highs and mids sound great, and the bass is nice and tight. I grabbed power from the drivers side battery of the truck. I installed a fuse holder on my firewall just above the battery, drilled a hole in the plastic bracket next to the battery to keep my fuse about 11-12” from the battery. Then drilled another hole in the blank clutch plate on the firewall to run the power wire into the truck and down the drivers side. I went with KnuKonceptz OFC 4 gauge for power wire. I was hesitating on going larger but i figured since it was OFC i would be ok with the 4 gauge and so far so good. Power wire runs to another fuse holder/distribution block where it separates the 4 gauge to both amps mounted behind the subwoofer box. I went with Skar audio twisted and shielded rca cables (one set of 4 channel and one set of two channel) and ran them down passengers side of truck. 12 gauge speaker wire for all the speakers, and i will say that was the hardest part of the job, running speaker wires through the rubber boots through the door jambs. Front doors i was able to sneak it through both connectors, but the rear door jamb i had to actually notch a little bit into the metal above where the connector clicked in, but not enough to where the rubber boot didn’t cover it up. So that was a little bit of a pain in the rear but not too bad with a Dremel. I had previously read in another review about someone complaining that the rear seats rested right on top of the subs themselves, but another review said they had used 3/4” spacers to lift the seats up a little. So that’s what i did, the seats did rest right on top of box, so i got 9 1/2” washers under each seat bolt but only 7 under the ones where the seat belt latch bolted down because i wanted to make sure i had a good amount of threads still into the cab of the truck. Even with two washers missing on those two bolts you can’t tell a difference and seats functioned properly without a problem. It lifted the rear seats up just enough so they weren’t directly sitting on the box and subs itself. Since the rear cargo covers have to removed for the box, it leaves those nut and bolt mounts on the frame of the seats as perfect spots for grounding the amp. With using them, i was able to have my grounds nice and short, approximately only 6-7” long. I believe i covered everything, i attached some pictures of subs/box and amps, sorry for the long review but i like to think that maybe some of my experiences with the install will help others out. I’m not a professional installer, more of what they would call a “back yarder” installer. But I’m extremely ocd and a protectionist so i take my time and try to do everything nice, neat and correct. Everything was crimped, soldered, and heat shrink tubed with rubber grommets as well. Hope this review helps someone else out. ... show more

  • Not bad for the money
Size: 10 Inch
The box fits my 2007 ram 3500 great. Seats fold up and down without hitting the box. I have 2 JL 10w1 subs in it air space is a little tight per the specs on JL audio website, but sounds good. I did notice the slight rattle that others have put in their reviews. I believe it is the divider between the two chambers (which is not sealed I figured out)... all in all not a bad box. May try to put some screws in the center divide if the rattle does continue. It's only at higher volume with song that have a lot of bass. ... show more

  • EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
Size: 10 Inch
Look. If you want something fair price and works well, this is it. DO NOT compare this to custom work at a shop, or some JL Audio custom box. Also, some were saying the box was rattling. NO WAY. From my pics, I DID NOT bolt this in. Even with my little sub amp, it thumped my cab! If YOU can make this rattle, then you are playing music at an unholy and inhuman level! I am super picky and this box works great. Drop it in. Wire up your subs, mount your subs (pre-drill holes), then go! Works great! Enjoy it! Mine was put in an old 2002 Ram 1500. Fit perfectly!! I used a set of 10” shallow mount Rockford-Fosgate’s. And I was able to have room for a large amp fuse, and ground and power blocks. ... show more

Size: 10 Inch
This box is might be ok for smaller systems and for speakers that don't require as much air space but I'm running 1400 watts to 2 R3-10 subs. box rattles like mad. I've took the speakers out and remounted them to make sure everything is tight and sealed but its one of the joints that are coming apart. If I push down on the corner of the box the rattle goes away. I have an 03 quad cab and the box does fit very snug and looks good and is a nice fit but its coming apart so its not worth the buy, ... show more
