  • Seems like it’s heavy built
Works good. Looks like it’s heavy built. It shipped very fast. It arrived in 2 days! I ordered Wednesday and it was delivered to my house on Friday. I haven’t tried it out on any of my trailers yet so I can’t say how good it performs yet. I like how the ball can be changed out to a different size but it only comes with the one size. The assembly instructions is a joke. You will have trouble if you are not mechanically inclined. Instructions are not in the correct order. That was the only “con” I’ve found so far. ... show more

  • Works with some effort, but believe what they say about grass and inclines.
Four out of five, because if I was really using it under all their restrictions, it would probably be fine. Not 5 out of 5 because to me, 5 out of 5 is perfect, and this is not that. My usage is with a < 1500 lb teardrop camper, on mostly level, dry, grassy ground, navigating it in and out of a carport. A typical yard, if your yard hasn't been redone in 30 years. The dolly works well enough for me, and I'm keeping it. I've used it about 3 times, including practicing. It's reasonably easy to navigate the trailer through a pretty tight clearance on the carport opening. It allows me to take a tight turn into an alley without driving my tow vehicle into the neighbor's yard. The company says don't use it on grass, and they mean it. One wheel will spin out at the least bit of incline or resistance. One wheel will spin out on the dust on my garage floor when I'm trying to take it out to use it with no load on it. I have 1 1/2 inch pavers that I like to put the trailer wheels on, and I had to recess them into the ground because the height of the paver was too much for it, even giving it a short run at it. I find myself adding quite a bit of human power to get it to work. You need to be ready to put some downward force on the handle to keep it from popping up when pulling. No, I don't move the ball every time I switch from pushing to pulling like it says to, but then I'd be spending all my time pulling cotter pins. The one time it almost smacked me in the head was because I forgot to take off the wheel chocks, so that's on me. Don't do that. What I think could be improved...I'm not a mechanical engineer, but I have to wonder if something couldn't be done to reduce the tendency to spin out. It seems to go from zero to max with the slightest change in the control. Just gearing it down to a slower speed might help. One wheel seems to spin out more than the other making me wonder if both wheels are being driven or if it's just one. Better traction, man. I don't know if that means bigger tires, different tires, or replacing the tires with tracks, but I have to think there are others wanting to use this on a grass yard or gravel. Having enough torque is not the issue, being able to make use of it is the problem. It arrived in good condition and was relatively easy to assemble. Not the best instructions, but far from the worst. Again, glad I bought it and will continue to use it, but it strikes me as a product that could work so much better. But I did quite a bit of research before buying, and if there's a better trailer dolly out there in this price range, I didn't find it. ... show more

  • The GoodYear Trailer dolly is super easy to operate.
I bought this for my husband for his birthday. It was pretty easy to put together and is very stable. This thing is so easy to move, and has multiple functions. For example you can change the ball size. Whether is connected to move our boat or the jet ski, the stability is as if we were moving them behind our truck. I can even do it by myself! ... show more

  • It doesn't work. Customer service sucks.
The item doesn't work. There's a sticker on the machine that says to contact the manufacturer first, with a phone number. I called the number, got a recording that said, "if you bought it from Ama,on, call Amazon. I called Amazon, they told me I need to call the manufacturer. I called them again and continued all the way through the recording. At the end it told me no one was available, leave a message, someone will return the call within 48 hours, I did. A week later I called again and left abother message. Somebody called the following day, they had me connect the machine directly to an outlet through the battery charger and see if it would work. It did not. They asked me to run some diagnostics using tools I do not have access to. They said they needed to check some things and would get back to me. I received an email asking about the results of things we never discussed. She had confused my case with someone elses. She determined that the problem was a certaun part and they'd send me a new one. I asked her to be sure it came with directions to replace it. The part showed up today, without directions. The temps are now below freezing, there's more than a foot of snow on the ground, it's too cold to work on it outdoors and too much snow to use it. I have a part that may, or may not fix it, but no information ad to how to replace it. Returning it means disassembly in the freezing weather. I have no clue how to proceed with this as I won't be able to do anything with it until after the return window closes. ... show more

  • Plenty of power.
Great machine! Any issues I had were user error. I used this dolly to get my 3500lb+ boat (2018 Tracker Targa V18) turned 90 degrees into a garage opening with 1.5 inches of clearance on either side. My concrete driveway has an incline to it and this machine performed great. Follow the directions, go slow, keep momentum on your side, have tire stops handy, be smart, have a plan, and this machine will do what it’s supposed to do. ... show more

  • Occasionally likes to do burnouts
Bought this to move a pop-up camper into a really tight carport spot that requires about a 90-degree turn, and for that job it definitely gets the job done. The space is tight enough that doing it by hand was a miserable experience, so this thing has been a huge upgrade for a one-man operation like mine. The biggest downside I noticed is traction. The tires spin pretty often, especially when you’re trying to pivot or move weight on less-than-perfect surfaces. You really have to lean into the handle and throw some body weight at it to keep it from peeling out. Still easier than muscling a trailer around manually, but worth mentioning. My other complaint is the handle design. I wish it folded down or detached easier because it takes up more storage space than it probably needs to. Other than those two things, I actually like it a lot. I’ve even used it to pull my project car around the garage while the car was sitting on wheel dollies using tow straps. I usually keep the Goodyear trailer dolly attached to a Gorilla utility cart with an ATV-style tow attachment that I also bought on Amazon. Between hauling cement, AC units, soil, mulch, and random garage projects, this thing ends up getting used for way more than just trailer duty. Overall, if you’re moving trailers by yourself and dealing with tight spaces, it’s absolutely worth having around — even if it occasionally likes to do burnouts. ... show more
