Ok. Do you really need to use these as regularly as Morton's Water Softener mentions? I am not sure but I know I want my water softener to last a long time. I just installed ours and got the first warning to add the cleaner. Literally you will open the bottle and pour it in the brine well (small diameter cylinder looking thing when you open the main lid to dump salt in). Dump the bottle in and push any button to reset the internal clock for the next cleaning. Super easy... ... show more

Used in my new Morton water softener works well but has bad taste and slight foam when using water the next morning after using. This only lasts till after showering or running lots of water.
