I loved the look of the chair and despite the 'negativish' reviews, took a chance because it matched the DR table I bought. The style and color of fabric (I got the hemp) are exactly as pictured, the wood accents have a visible graining that is also tactile that I thought was interesting. The chair is light but not significantly more so than other DR chairs these days (I compared with a few in World Market). I did not find the chairs to be tippy at all (and I tested all 4) but I'm 5'8" and place my feet on the ground, stand and then push the chair back with the my legs. I think most adults would do it this way so the issue is with kids wanting to push back from the table. Since these are counter height chairs, I probably wouldn't purchase if I had younger kids 'still growing' but anybody 5'5" or better should be fine. In terms of durability, still too early to tell but we only use the dining room occasionally so we should be fine. Lastly, there should be a difference in height between the counter and bar height chairs. I purchased the counter height chair which measures roughly 39.5" (floor to top of back rest), 26.5 (floor to top of seat), 13.5" (top of seat to top of back rest) and 22" (wide). ... show more

I liked the way these chairs looked when I first saw them. To me they look as dressy as a tuxedo and that is exactly what captured my attention. The fabric is very nice and smooth. They are comfortable to sit in and really support lower back. They come well packed in a single box with two plastic covered hand holes making them easy to pick up and move while bringing them into the house. Really classy. ... show more

It’s plastic. Seems like other reviewers are confused in determining. Not the most comfortable but works for quick sitting sessions. For under hundred dollars: it’s a keeper. Unpack and use: arrives in one piece.

These are attractive stools with nice upholstery. BE AWARE that while the legs and top piece appear to be wood, they are PLASTIC. The description says "Solid Wood" but there is no way this is true. You may still like them though as they are nice.

Quality was cheap, material thin, sank in chair, don't think this is real wood either, item had a hole in the back of chair in the wood part when received. Not satisfied at all.
