I replaced my basic silver knobs with matte black levers and I they look great! Two things I'd put out there: (1) If you're buying these for a bedroom or bathroom door, note that with these levers, you need to turn the lock to release the function -- if you're leaving the bathroom, for example, you can't just turn the handle and the lock will 'pop' and unlock. For those of you with small kids who might accidentally get stuck, that might be a concern. Luckily, you could just use a coin to turn the lock from the outside -- it's not difficult. (2) I live in a condo and started changing out all my old doorknobs. As I'm standing back admiring them, pretty quickly, all I could notice was that the hinges weren't matte black as well. Just a warning that the project might end up being bigger than you realize. ... show more

My old ones lasted maybe 3-4 years and felt cheap. I purchased these ones and from the gecko it looked better, sturdier and was easy to install. After installing it handled better then the old ones. Saw that they are no longer for sale on amazon. Wish they had more, but for now i should be good. Thank you. ... show more
