Excellent size, quality and price !
Finally, the perfect size grill to cover two stove burners (in length and width) with no gaps or a burner flame under a handle. This is a heavy grill, not a skimpy one, regardless the country it was made in. Obviously was made solid and of good quality at the seller's request. This grill is heavy, but not to heavy for a senior lady's small hands to move it around, it has two nice handles and a all around channel for drippings. This grill is two-in-one. Nice and reversible, one flat side for pancakes, eggs, etc. and the other side for grilling burgers, chicken and other grilling foods. The flat side is also great for grilling eggplants and bell peppers for canning, you can fit 15 large peppers which is a lot to grill all at once. The grilling was pretty fast and without smoke inside the home ! It comes pre-seasoned and ready to go. For this size and quality, the price of $ 27.99 is unbeatable ! As with any other dishes or skillets made from cast iron, maintenance is key ! After each use, clean it, dry it and wipe a thin layer of oil on it.

Wonderful product—DON’T SKIP THE SEASONING!
Purchased this griddle for a 4 burner Viking cooktop after the aluminum-coated griddle we’d had for years was ruined after I left a bag of pasta on it and turned on the wrong burner. Oops. We paid $140 for that accessory through Viking in 2006 and I now know we got ripped off. First, it was aluminum. It worked well enough but pancakes never had the golden appearance that everyone strives for. We have many other cast iron pans (including a Dutch oven) so when it was time for a replacement, cast iron was our natural choice. I’ll be honest—the reviews on here concerned me. Rusting, cracking, sticking... sounds a bit like a lemon product. Or could it be that these folks are not familiar with cooking with cast iron? I originally ordered a similar griddle made by Viking for 3x the price of this one. The seller contacted me to say that due to COVID 19, shipping was delayed. I decided to cancel that order and go with this one as it seemed to be in stock (seems it no longer is). I am so glad I made this decision! Immediately upon receiving the item and ensuring it would fit my cooktop (it does. Perfectly.) I set about seasoning the griddle. There are many methods you can try—I’m sure they all work fine, but the key here is that even though it says it’s been pre seasoned, you need to do this before cooking with it! I can understand why people had problems with sticking... they probably didn’t season it. I know that this step was necessary because when I took it out of the box, it was a dark grey color, but after seasoning it (I needed to use my BBQ because it was too big for my easy-bake oven) it turned the black patina that we all know is cast iron. This morning I tried it out for the first time cooking an egg. Much to my delight, the seasoning I performed on it prepped the griddle perfectly and the non stick surface worked flawlessly. Even better than my copper pans! I’m beyond thrilled with this purchase and expect it will provide many years of excellent cooking experiences. Very excited to try out pancakes and French toast!

Nice griddle if you know cast iron care
It looked solid, heavy, and well-made, which is what I would expect from a cast iron griddle. The size seemed useful, and it definitely felt like something that could last a long time with proper care. I ended up returning it because I realized I had no experience taking care of cast iron, and this felt like a large item to start with. I probably would have kept it if I were more comfortable with cast iron maintenance.

Love this griddle.
Very heavy cast iron and preconditioned. This griddle is a real time saver. I set it on top of the grate of my outdoor gas grill to keep from having to clean out grease and drippings every time I cook. It heats up uniformly and the grid leaves perfect grid marks on the meat. I can cook 4 half pound burgers or two 24 oz tee bone steaks at a time on it and not a drop of grease ends up in the grill. It was about an eighth of an inch wider than my grill bed but I can still close the grill top over it. The other side is a flat griddle which is great for cooking pancakes on either the grill or my gas cook top. The handles on either end make it very easy to move it on the grill and remove it for cleaning. The grid side takes a bit of scrubbing to remove cooked on residue along the grids, but is still much less of a pain to clean than the grill. I recondition it with a bit of oil each time and have had nothing stick to it. And finally, I really was amazed at the quality of this grill for the price I paid.

Iron but “pre-seasoned”?
I purchased this for camping and on a gas stove. I had some reservations regarding the “pre seasoned” discription. Despite that I still bought it. After receiving was heavier then I expected for a budget purchase though the heft led credence to the fact it was cast iron. The “seasoning”/coloration was more reminiscent of a powder coat seen on bbq grills not really seasoning….tho Inhave never purchased a “pre seasoned” cast iron product. I first cooked up some baccon which in it self should be relatively non stick….unfortunately there were stuck on foodstuff. Cleaned off with water and a bit of scrubbing, no soap. Next up what’s some pancakes. This time I used some butter, and still I had stuck food stuff. I then tried some avocado oil and still had sticking. So I’m not so convinced it’s preseason, so I will either return it or try to remove whatever coating it has and season it myself. When I go to remove the coating, it’ll be much easier to determine what it is. To satisfy amazons review “ideas”, there was no taste, core material seemed quality tho the non stick was lacking, and the size was as expected.

Overall great stovetop grill!
I love this thing! I wasn’t sure how it would work on our apartment electric stove since no one mentioned it in their reviews. The grill heats up very well but is limited to where the heat source is.. so I usually end up rotating items to get to my desired doneness. You can see by the photos that if items are placed where the burner is they cook faster. Also, I’ve learned that I need to keep adding oil, soy sauce, lime, while cooking to keep food from sticking to the grill. Or maybe I should just turn down the heat. I’ve only used it a few times so far. Be prepared to fill your kitchen with smoke and have grease splatter all over your stove top. Turn the exhaust vent on, open as many windows as you can so you don’t set off the smoke alarm. It’s a fun cooking experience! As for cleaning, I followed someone’s tip to wash, dry and oil down after each use. If you have charred food stuck to the grill: reheat it up for a few minutes, turn off the heat and pour water over it to release/soften the stuck on food. Once it’s cooled down you can wash it off and scrub the grill with a stiff plastic brush. I make sure to oil it down right away after it’s cleaned and dry to avoid rust. I store the grill in my oven when not using it so it doesn’t get dusty. Overall it’s a great grill. The handles make it easier to clean and store. Great alternative to an outdoor grill when you don’t have a lot of space to work with.
