I replaced my older non-stick pans with cast iron to reduce PFAS in my kitchen. I used the flat pan for pancakes for the first time with a silicone cooking utensils and it was surprisingly easy - non-stick quality is great, the size of the flat griddle was awesome for pancakes on a gas stove which didn't burn, and the pan didn't scratch and was easy to clean with water. This seems like a very basic set of cookware and will likely suit all my non-stick cooking needs. It's great that they came pre-seasoned; I didn't notice any water spots or corrosion after cleaning. They are heavier than traditional metal pans, but that's expected.

Before purchasing I read quite a few reviews. There's many brands, many sets, and many prices. I was looking for simple, affordable, and at LEAST fair quality. These mark all 3. I read some reviews about these pans not being seasoned. While I believe they are pre-seasoned, I still washed and seasoned them myself. I recently made steaks and was firstly impressed by how well it was cooking. You can tell the thicker cast-iron distributes heat evenly. These are heavy, so if you're someone that can't easily lift a few pounds, this might not be for you. I did alot of research on how to clean cast-iron, as so many people warn about using soap. From my understanding soap was only terrible for cast-iron when soaps contained lye in them. Dawn dish soap does not contain lye and is said to safe to use, but drying after washing is essential. And you can season your pan if you feel dish soap does strip the seasoning. Overall, I'm happy with my new cast-iron set!

Recipient loves it. Leadfreemomma rated these very highly for LOW lead content!!!! Converted the recipient to using CAST IRON!!! Yes!!!! Just scrape with water & turner., dry immediately, then drop a tiny bit of oil in there and spray it around (mb with a cloth or pt)

I'm giving 4 stars, but the lack of a single star is probably my own fault/problem. After doing some research, I felt $80 was a terrific price for a 5-piece cast iron set of cookware (and I still do), so I ordered this set. I can't begin to describe how impressed I was with the shipping packaging. It came in a large cardboard box that was the perfect size to contain all the individual boxes that had the plastic wrapped piece of cookware inside each one. There was absolutely no chance of any piece being damaged while shipping unless the whole thing fell out of the shipping truck and was then hit by another shipping truck. Awe-struck impressed. Every piece seems to be well made. They aren't too thin, although the handles are perhaps a bit small. It also comes with instructions on how to use, clean, and care for this product, which based on my knowledge of cooking with cast iron, seems to be in-line. My only complaint was that the cast iron didn't perform as expected. Despite the instructions stating that it was pre-seasoned, I had a real problem with sticking and cleaning this product. However, I am not convinced yet that this is a problem with the product and not some self-imposed problem that I simply haven't caught up with the learning curve of how to cook with and clean cast-iron.

The media could not be loaded. I was weary buying Amazon brand cast iron. But I am thoroughly impressed! The pre-season on them was great and they are better than any cast iron I've ever purchased before! The large pot is great for sourdough because of the lid. Great quality and definitely will be buying more!

I already owned a full set of $50 per piece cast iron cookware. I've hand picked and collected piece by piece over the years. This set had all but one piece (the flat 2 burner grill) and was less than 2 pieces of mine on a cyber deal before Christmas. I was hesitant but since it was for my college student who really doesn't cook much but misses cast iron when she goes to school, I bought it. I am so glad I did. It is a great quality and although a tiny bit lighter, it is no less usable. This is a great value and a wonderful set to get into cast iron cookware!
