The Amazon Basics Basketball Goal is a good, budget friendly basketball goal. Here’s my quick list of pros and cons for the item. Pros: - Extremely easy assembly with clear instructions. The goal came with everything needed to assemble it, so you don’t even need to bring your own tools. I was able to put it together by myself in about an hour. All the hardware was clearly marked too, with each bolt size bagged separately and the required washers and nuts already on each bolt. They just made it extremely easy to put this thing together. - Height is easily adjustable, it just requires you to remove two bolts from the backboard, move it to your desired height, and reinstall the bolts. - Good backboard size and the clear polycarbonate material gives it a premium look. - Has wheels on front to make it easy to roll. - The base has a wide opening, making it easy to fill with water or sand. - High quality parts. I didn’t feel a single sharp edge or rough spot on any of the pole assemblies, and the backboard had a protective film over it to ensure it didn’t get scratched up during shipping. - Comes with a regulation size rim and a high quality net as well. - Excellent value. I’d be surprised if you could find an alternative goal that’s anywhere close to the quality and ease of assembly as this one. - Includes storage spot for basketball on the back. Cons: - Really my only complaint about the goal is with the bracket that attaches the backboard to the pole. The bracket had two parts that needed to be bent during installation, and after getting the backboard fully installed, it’s clear that the backboard isn’t perpendicular to the pole - It’s slightly tilted to one side. It’s not completely obvious though, but in a perfectionist and noticed it right away. Not sure why this bracket couldn’t have come already bent to the proper angle so this wouldn’t happen. Overall I’ve been impressed with the goal, especially for the price. I don’t think you’ll find one from other brands that’s as good as this one is, especially not for the money. I’m happy with it and my son absolutely loves finally having his own goal. I’ll give it 5/5 stars and would recommend to others.

This basketball hoop is fantastic! We had been discussing replacing our very old goal that we have had for as long as we can remember, and when I came across this I couldn't wait to give it a try. It is everything I thought and more. The adjustable height from 4.75 feet to 10 feet makes it perfect for kids and adults alike, so the whole family can enjoy it. Adjust it to the height you need and have fun! It also has an 18" regulation rim which is nice to have. The backboard is also supposed to be shatterproof which is amazing! I appreciated that the assembly was straightforward, and the instructions were clear. That was such a relief as most instructions and assembly can be a pain. Once put together, the hoop feels very sturdy and stable, even during intense games. It has also held up very nicely to a lot of weather changes so far! We live in the Midwest and one day it's summer and the next day it's winter. We never know what we will get from one day or week to the next. The base is easy to fill for stability and you can use either water or sand. We personally put sand in ours, but either would work just fine I'm sure. The entire system is portable enough to move when needed as it has a couple wheels making it easy to move wherever you need it. The backboard and rim seem well made and have held up to repeated use without any issues. I have had six people from kids to adults playing at once and it has held up great! We’ve had hours of fun playing in the driveway, and it’s great for general basketball practice, casual shooting and competitive games. Overall, this is an excellent value and a great addition to any home. Highly recommend!

There's nothing rickety about this basketball hoop! It's good quality and should serve your family for many years to come. We just put this portable basketball hoop together, and while the instructions weren't perfect, it wasn't difficult. It comes with the tools you need, two throwaway sockets, but we only used one of them to hold the nuts steady whole we used a better tool for the head of the bolt. (We used an electric ratchet, which made it much faster and easier.) In the assembly instructions, one of the pictures was misleading, but the biggest annoyance was that the hardware bags seemed to be labeled with the step number you should use it on, but the step numbers were really wrong! So we went by the letter label on the hardware bag, and matched it to the letter in the instruction book. That was correct, and we got the job done fairly quickly. I imagine a lot of kids are gonna be out helping their parents put this together Christmas afternoon, and I don't think anyone's going to be terribly impatient or using curse words. One heads-up is that it requires water to fill the base, PLUS they want you to fill an included zippered bag full of sand, at you'll want to have sand at the ready if you're playing to give this ass a gift. The bag of sand sits on top of the base. I can just imagine that in my climate, this is going to hold rainwater and go moldy or grow other unpleasant things! I took off a star for that, although I would have only taken half a star off if I could. I like that the bolts holding the springs that hold on the hoop on can be adjusted so the dunking force is adjustable. The height is adjustable, kind of. The upright pole is comprised of three sections. All three sections make it very tall, for adults. But to lower it, you have to remove the middle pole section, reducing the height by 1/3. Those are the only two height options. (Also, be aware that if you plan to use this for young kids at first and then go full height, you'll need to store a large section of pole for a few years.)
