  • This is high secutity!!
Size: 8 Sheet
Had a cross-cut shredder before deciding on a micro-cut. Believe me, there's no one going to get any of your info with this shredder. I would recommend using a dryer sheet in the bin; the cut is like confetti; if that ever spilled there would be incredible mess to clean up, the dryer sheet prevents static cling on bin and you! Also, use a trash bag placed over bin and turn bin upside down to catch the shredded papers. The Amazon brand is excellent, easy directions to follow and performs great. Also, use a lubricant sheet to keep those teeth working to top performance. Amazon sells the sheets also. Follow all instructions and you'll have a quality product that'll give you peace of mind for top security of sensitive paperwork. It also shred s credit cards and even cd's. Extremely satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend the Amazon basics high security shredder. ... show more

  • Perfect for Home or Office, Easy to Use
Size: 8 Sheet
I’ve been using this shredder for a little while now, and it does exactly what I need it to do. The paper feeder makes it super easy to shred multiple sheets at once—up to 7–8 sheets like it says—without having to feed them one by one. It handles mail, paperwork, and even credit cards and CDs without any issues. I love the micro cut feature—it shreds everything into tiny pieces, so sensitive information is completely safe. One thing I really like is that if it overheats, it automatically stops until it cools down. That gives me peace of mind knowing it won’t burn out or get damaged. It’s also portable on wheels, which makes it easy to move between rooms, so it’s just as convenient for home as it is for an office setting. It is a bit loud when shredding papers, CDs, and credit cards, but that’s expected for a machine that handles everything so efficiently. Overall, I’m very happy with it—it’s reliable, safe, and convenient whether you’re using it at home or in the office. ... show more

  • Uh it's an Amazon brand...But is it good? Yes! Micro-cuts perfectly!
Size: 8 Sheet
This shredder works great! It shreds into tiny particles. It is easy to use. Removing shredded paper is not an issue. It worked from the start. And has safety features on it. It was affordable as compared to other shredders that shred small like this. This is an Amazon version of a micro cut shredder and they produced a nice piece. It is pretty quiet and I have zero complaints about it. Definitely worth the investment. ... show more

  • Economical shredder that could make emptying tidier
Size: 8 Sheet
I bought the 8-sheet capacity shredder. At first, I was thinking I had made a bad purchasing decision, but after having used it for several months, I have completely changed my mind. I would describe myself as a low- to moderate-level user. Some days or weeks I might only use it occasionally to shred a piece of mail or receipts, but at other times, like when I’m cleaning out files or working on taxes, I give it a good workout. At first, it seemed a little slow and awkward to feed papers into what looked like a very narrow slot at the correct angle, but once I got the hang of it, all was good. While it doesn’t shred extremely fast, it’s fast enough for my needs. One thing I have had trouble with is emptying the bin. It is certainly easy to pull out the bin for emptying, but I have made plenty of messes trying to dump the shreds into a trash bag. It can be difficult to get a good, comfortable grip on the bin while holding open a trash bag. The best technique for me thus far has come from “Ask Rufus” who suggests putting a large kitchen trash bag over the bin and inverting it to dump the contents. I still manage to sometimes make messes, but this has been the best technique yet. I tried using thin liners (I bought a roll of 4-gallon plaster liners), and while they work fairly well, the ones I ordered are too long and have to be folded over the bin rim before closing it, and I don’t like the looks of the plastic showing on the outside of the shredder. Bottom line: I think it’s a decent shredder for moderate use at a relatively low price. For me, the value is there. ... show more

  • Impressed So Far
Size: 8 Sheet
Just received this paper shredder and tested it out. I was not sure how the 5 minute run-time might affect things, but I ran a bit over a few dozen pages through it right after one another and it wasn't complaining. For the price, I'm very happy. Arrived well packed, safe and sound, unlike the last shredder I had ordered from Amazon that came cracked on the main unit. My initial criteria was a shredder with wheels that didn't kick out a ton of dust & a large continuous run-time. Wheels are nice so you can put it under a desk or out of the way and easily roll it out when necessary. Despite this Amazon Basics shredder not having a large run-time (5 minutes runtime and 30 minutes off) I figured for around $65 it was worth a shot. More often I'm shredding just a small stack of papers and for those rare times where I'm facing shredding a few hundred pages I can just shred smaller stacks over time. Not a big deal. If it breaks prematurely I won't be annoyed having spent 2-3x the cost. Honestly for $65 I'm super impressed so far! ... show more

  • Works Well If You Don’t Overload It
Size: 8 Sheet
This Amazon Basics micro-cut shredder works well for everyday home use. It shreds paper into very small pieces, which is great for securely destroying documents, and it also handles credit cards and CDs as advertised. The pull-out bin makes it easy to empty, and the unit itself is compact enough to fit nicely in a home office. The only thing to keep in mind is to stay within the 8-sheet capacity. If you try to overload it, it will slow down or struggle a bit. As long as you feed it the recommended amount, it works reliably and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Great shredder for light to moderate use. ... show more

  • Decent, but not fantastic. Good price
Size: 8 Sheet
This is my fourth shredder over the years, replacing one I bought from Staples about 10 years ago. I got the 8-sheet one, since my others were 4 & 6 sheet. You can never put what they say in it anyway. I've always had cross-cut shredders, but micro shredding is a whole other level. Tiny pieces! But huge mess - it is dusty to empty and pieces get all over even with a big. Speaking of bags, I first tried a paper bag in it but then went to a plastic bag because the paper wouldn't stay in place and kept causing door open/bin full issues. Truth be told, the plastic bag does too. I may just try those fancy "shredder bags". Shredding credit cards is a breeze! I finally feel like I can safely get rid of them. Cons: Overheats easily Using the plastic bag which wraps over the top of the bin means the bin is difficult to shut so it thinks it's actually shut. it's super sensitive to that. Thinks it's full way before it really is. Which means I have to open it, push the paper down and then fight with the door not thinking it's shut. I'm pretty sure it won't last the 10 years my cheap Staples one did. ... show more
