I never had one of these before, and now that a new kitty "adopted us" after our dear cats passed away several years ago, I had to purchase a new litter box from Amazon and saw this mat as well. I thought it would be wonderful to keep the area in our bathroom, where the letterbox is, clean and sanitary. I am amazed at the workmanship that went into this mat! It is larger than I thought, which is a good thing. It also is more heavy duty than I knew it would be and therefore it will hold up longer and be easier to clean. I use this mat/rug in conjunction with the cat litter box. It traps a lot of the litter from the cat’s paws, and prevents it from getting tracked to other places in the house. It is sturdy and made well. I recommend it highly!

So I gave 4 stars because it does not help not track all litter (maybe that's not fair, but im leaving room to be wowed by a future product). The way I clean these is take it outside and house it down with bleach and water. Overall, I still use it and would recommend the product. Where has this been all of my life??? I was constantly sweeping litter from my basement cement floor, and then having to vacuum the carpet upon entering a different space because both the cat and myself were tracking litter all over. I haven't seen a grain of litter out of the box since I put this down! I've not owned it long enough to attest to its durability or how easy it is to clean. I bought this one over some other options because it was the largest and the price was the best. We put this under our cats litter boxes, as they are young and still learning how to use them. It does a great job of catching scattered litter and the stray mess, however it's very difficult to clean. You're only real option is to take it outside with a hose and scrub brush to get stuff off. Definitely prefer cleaning the mat to scrubbing it off of my floors though! ... show more
