This American Thunder axle-back exhaust system for the 2005-2010 Ford Mustang GT, GT500, California Special, coupes and convertibles with the 4.6L or 5.4L engine. Bought these for my 2007 mustang. Installation was easy (two bolts per hangar, two hangars per side) and painless (except that two bolts easily snapped when taking off my stock mufflers, but that's another story). The beauty of these is that they are not as wide as the stock mufflers, so it is easier to install them since you have direct access to all of the hangar bolts. The stock mufflers make it harder to get to some of the bolts, so be prepared to need to use a smaller ratchet set or a wrench to get to some of them. As far as the mufflers go, these are the most aggressive Flowmasters. They have an excellent sound from outside of the car and to the rear. I was immediately surprised by how much more noticeable it was inside the cabin of the car. After driving it for a bit, the harmonics from the driver's seat made it such that my head and inner ear hurt. :-( In the back seat, it sounded perfect. Driver's side and passenger, great sound, but it did slowly hurt. After being teased about it, I got those same people to confirm the front seat harmonics on my 2007 mustang, with one of them saying afterwards "How come I feel like I just came away from a rock concert? My head feels like it is full of cotton." In the end, I sold these to a friend of mine within a few days, and I installed them on his 2010 Mustang. Installation again was a snap, done in 1 hour (the 2010 has one extra bolt on the driver's side rear hangar). Sounded awesome, and the sound inside the cabin was no issue at all -- must be a difference in the model year Mustang or something. He drove away with the intense low growl that these mufflers provide. Definitely worth purchasing these to introduce some attitude to the sound of your car. I installed these in about 2 hours because I have big hands and the bolts were hard to get to. Man, these things made my stock mufflers sound like a little baby exhaust on a Prius. It took about a week for me to adjust to cabin noise because of the drastic difference in sound levels. But I constantly get stares from everyone while cruising or sitting at a light. WORTH. EVERY. PENNY. I have taken my car into a couple shops for nick knack stuff here and there, and nearly every time, the mechanics pull me aside and say that it's one of the best exhaust notes they've ever heard. Listened to a recording before buying. Loved how it sounded. Now that they are in the car I still love how they sound outside the car. But there is a good bit of drone between about 1600 and 2000 rpm under light load. My wife does not like it at all. I tolerate it knowing how great they sound outside. ... show more

For some reason, im not really sure what happened but it was only $ + 300.00 here in Amazon wherein everywhere else sells this for $ 500.00. I pulled the trigger of course and i cant never be happy. Honestly i experience the " drone" effect whenever i hit 3500K-4000K RPM on the freeway on 4th gear. I just go aliitle bit over that and shift to fifth no hassle. I'd like the noise (Music) thou so sometime i just keep it like that for a little while. Do not hesitate to buy this product. big response even when idled. ... show more

These mufflers are quality-designed and built. The fitment is near perfect and they sound amazing at idle and on acceleration. However, the "drone" at cruising speeds is ridiculous. With my music cranked, windows up, it will still cause driver and passenger to have headaches. If your Mustang is a daily-driver, beware. If you only take it out on nice days and/or to the track, these mufflers may be for you. ... show more

I got this back in Dec and after a 2 hour install myself I was amazed at how much beefier the exhaust sounded compared to stock. A ton of fun for around $300. These 40 series though can get a little loud at certain rpm but that's what I wanted. If stock is loud enough for you then I won't bother with these. But if you like that muscle car sound, then this is the ticket! ... show more

This exhaust hits an awesome note. I put it on myself in an hour and found it cheapest here on amazon. I have buddies that spent 6 and 7 hundred dollars for their exhaust and mine sounds better.
