I can't answer to its longevity - I just hooked it up. I purchased it to resolve a problem. My main computer is connected to 3 monitors. But I also wanted the option to duplicate monitor #1 on a TV. Both monitor #1 and the TV are 4K. Using the 4th port on my graphics card consistently dropped the output to 1920×1080. The 3840 option was unavailable regardless of what tweak I attempted (clearly a fault of the graphics card). With this splitter, I see a perfect 3840×2160. 99% of the time, the TV output will not be needed. I do hope that does not present a problem with this. For now, this is perfect. ... show more

This is a review of "Amazon Basics HDMI Splitter 1 in 2 Out, 4K@60Hz for Dual Monitors, Mirror Only". This is quite a tiny device - barely thicker than the HDMI cables that you will plug into it. The size makes it easy to carry with you if you need a splitter for travel. Thankfully, the splitter has a metal housing so it's unlikely that the device will break when inserting/removing cables. It's powered by a micro USB cable. The micro USB cable is included, but you'll need a power source to power this splitter. I tested this out with two devices - a PC and a tablet. Both were outputting 1080P, as I don't have any 4K screens to test with. First, this HDMI splitter has three LEDs - a red one that is supposed to indicate power and two green ones that indicate when each display is receiving a signal. The red LED lights up when any device is plugged into the splitter (either an HDMI display, an input, OR power. This can be a little confusing, since the "power" light can be on but the device won't actually work unless the micro USB port on the splitter is plugged into power. In my testing, the device would output video to two displays without trouble from either the tablet or the PC. I did notice that sometimes I would only get audio passed through to one of the two displays and no sound on the other one. Unplugging the power from the splitter and plugging it back in would cause audio to go to both displays. Aside from the audio quirkiness, this looks like a nice splitter to pack into a travel bag for times when you might need to mirror a display on two screens. ... show more

Very noticeable input lag regardless of the source or output. If you're trying to use this for streaming, you'll notice that it makes everything happen about half a second after it's supposed to. Everything looks good on both ends but you can't play when there's a half second delay...
