  • Looks well made, brews fast
Style: Standard
I've been using this brewer for about a week now. It works well and brews quickly. I just wish the reservoir was larger. I just fill my mug with water and pour in the reservoir before I make each cup, so that really isn't an issue. You need to reset the cup size each time you turn it on, which is not a big deal. The brew temperature is fine for drinking right away. If you don't plan to drink the whole cup right away, I would put it into a thermal mug of some kind to keep it warm longer. That's really my only complaint. I haven't used the insert for regular ground coffee yet, so I don't know how that works. I would recommend pushing a new K cup down on the bottom needle before closing the lid. You will notice the foil cover go "limp". Since the housing is stronger than the foil cover, just closing the cover lets the top needle puncture the softer foil cover first. Then, when the bottom needle punctures the housing, it can force small flecks of coffee back into the top nozzle. I've read that is the most common reason for Keurig machine failures. UPDATE: After I wrote the above, my Brewer started making smaller cups than I selected. I noticed that the tank cover wasn't quite flush with the main housing. I pushed it down firmly so that it was flush, and it made the selected cup size. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY IT! BAD DESIGN.
Style: Standard
This has to be the worst design for a coffee pot I have ever seen. CONS: 1. While the water comes out the front, the displays and buttons are on the right. So you have to pull it out every time you want to use it and fill it with water. Difficult with limited counter space. 2. Using it is not intuitive. It took me a while to figure it out. You have to put the KCUP in first, shut the top and then you can pick capsule and the desired amount. I found the 10 oz to work best for a regular size mug and two of those for large travel mug. 3. When it's done the lights don't turn off. And if you do things in the wrong order, the lights won't turn off ever! Even when you unplug it. We had to take out the Kcup and start all over again. 4. The water capacity is small - but I did know that. PROS: I don't drink coffee but my husband said it's fine. My advice - don't buy it. I returned and reordered the same off brand I purchased before - the motor finally died on that one. But it's easy to use so went with what I know. ... show more

  • Great economical alternative to keurig
Style: Standard
This is such a great machine for the price. It has the ability to use ground coffee or coffee pods. It brews quickly and efficiently. The way the machine is designed i won’t have to worry about clogged needles like i did with my keurig. After going through three keurigs this was a welcome change. Only downside is there is no filtration in water tank but i don’t mind it. Also, the water tank is smaller but i just fill it each time i use it. No big deal. My husband bought this as a gift and i was so grateful since i typically only drink two cups each morning. But i love that i can use grounds if i want to. Also switching between ground and capsule is so much easier to do than with the keurig. All you do to brew is press button to select cup size and press button for either capsule or grounds. One more caveat. The way to adjust the height of the cup stand was a little cheap but honestly i just leave it at the low setting even for short cups and it’s not a problem. Summary: great machine for the price, versatility, a few caveats but nothing major and i would definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Good with a little concern
Style: Standard
Overall a good machine, at least so far. It took just a bit to get used to operating it seemkessly. The only major con is that the resvoire is not very big and therefore runs out of water pretty quickly. You really need to check it well before using, because it’s easy to assume you have enough only to get annoyed. Tales just a couple of minutes to heat up enough to start brewing. Don’t use really fine ground loose coffee because the holder will get clumped up and not seep well. So if you wish to make hit cocoa or mushroom coffee, I suggest you put it in a cup and then just use the machine to drip the hot water into it saving the hassle of heating water in a pot in the stove. Make sure you select the size of the brew first before you press another of the start buttons, especially if you want a larger brew size. Once you press start you can’t change it. In not checking the Resevoir first, it will stop and supposed to start back up after you add water but takes a few minutes so the instructions say. I’ve done it twice and was to impatient and started pushing buttons to no avail and unplugged it to reset, but that also takes a bit if you don’t leave it unplugged for a while. Probably at least 5 minutes. I’m using it basically just with tea pods and have been pretty happy. ... show more

  • great coffee maker
Style: Standard
Great Keurig maker. lot less expensive compared to name brand. I have water and pod in place so in the morning all I have to do is push buttons and coffee is ready momentarily However I have found sometimes coffee maker doesn't work properly. You lift the lid up and there is a white piece. Stick a paperclip in the tip opening and move it. it cleans out the tip so coffee will flow ... show more

  • K cups vs ground filter
Style: Standard
Beware as some kcups will explode & the grounds will shoot out of top during the last 3 to 5 seconds of brewing. Coffee grounds spit out everywhere, in the cup on the counter & floor. I then opened a kcup and poured into the ground filter, you will endure grounds in your coffee cup so don't drink the bottom. ... show more
