You know, I've bought small space heaters before. This one, for being probably the cheapest, is honestly the best. First, it's still running despite being almost 3 years old and only seeing use for a couple months tops every year. The last space heater I bought fizzled out after a year, and the one b
efore that popped a heat element after a month. Both were more than double this thing's price. Second, its modest output is perfect for me. I mostly just stick it on the bottom shelf of my desk down by my feet to help keep my legs warm. If it starts getting too warm, which is rare, I can switch it off effortlessly and turn it back on once I need it again. A fan setting would mitigate this, but would also require constant fidgeting and adjusting. A simple medium output is easiest and honestly fine most of the time. It's quite small and not very powerful, so it's best used for personal heating rather than trying to warm any space larger than a computer desk. It's also fairly quiet, which is nice. I rarely hear it even over my computer fan. ABOUT THE CANCER WARNING: It's because the product contains plastics and putting the label on every unit is just easier than only putting it in orders to regions that require the warning. Honestly, if you think you're going to get cancer from running a space heater, you should probably be more worried about your central home heat.
