๐Ÿš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Alpine R-Series subwoofers received positive reviews with most praising their sound quality, sleek design, and value for cost. However, a few found the quality not up to the standard of some other brands. The product really shines when factoring in the right box, and it fits well in smaller enclosures.

Pros

  • ๐ŸŽต Superior sound quality, particularly when placed in a factory-spec box.
  • ๐Ÿ“ฆ Fits well in smaller, regular-sized enclosures.
  • โšก Packs a decent punch of bass and operates in a minimum space footprint.
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Great value for the cost.

Cons

  • ๐Ÿ˜• Some users found the sax sound muddy with certain settings and in certain boxes.
  • ๐Ÿ”Š It might not hit extremely low bass notes.
  • ๐Ÿ” Some users felt that other brands offered better sound quality.

Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a subwoofer that offers great sound quality, fits perfectly in smaller spaces, and is a valuable purchase, buying the Alpine R-Series is a solid choice. However, if super low bass and the crispest sound quality is a higher priority, you may want to explore other options as well.

  • Amazing SQ, needs the proper box!
I have owned many many subs and built many boxes. At first I was slightly disappointed with them in my old box at a fairly universal 4 net cubes tuned to 32 hz. They hit lows great but were very muddy sounding with transient responses and had a sharp upwards roll off. I went against everything Iโ€™ve known and made a factory spec box, mimicking the halo box alpine makes, at 1.4 cubes per sub at 35hz. Well, it sounds amazing!! Even my wife said wow that sounds really good! I will admit they donโ€™t hit the super super low shirt flapping notes, but how often does music really have that? Itโ€™s actually a great advantage to have subs that perform in a very small ported box, taking a minimum space footprint. Again if want ultra low bass, look at other options. But for a very very well rounded SQ oriented sub above entry level quality, I highly recommend these. ... show more

  • Awesome sub
Very good subwoofer and punchy bass. Does really good in regular sized enclosures as it requires less space than other suds. I was able to get it for a decent price versus other online vendors. Overall very satisfied with this purchase.

  • Awesome subwoofer! Absolute upgrade for me! Thanks AVLeaders!
No dislikes, one like that I did have was it came beautifully packaged, the design of the sub itself is awesome and I can not express how good the bass is for the value. Alpine outdid theirselves with the R-Series. Thanks AVLeaders for the awesome shipping time, and outstanding packaging. Will be ordering more from them! ... show more

  • Yes and no
I replaced my JL 10โ€ W3v3โ€™s with a pair of these and I must say that my JLโ€™s have a WAY better sound quality to them. Yes you get a little more boom out of the 12โ€ alpines vs the 10โ€ JLโ€™s but the JLโ€™s just sound way more crisp and definitely more solid sounding while still getting a pretty big hit from a couple of 10โ€s. Both were in a ported box mind you. But for the price point it was worth giving the 12โ€™s a shot but JLโ€™s are just hard to beat. From my understanding alpines quality control is pretty much non existent anymore as where the JLโ€™s have loving hands that assemble each and every one. Now I just have to figure out how to sell my alpines lol. ... show more

  • This ended up being the weak link
Great price n performance. My gains have to be turned down a lotthough bc the voice coil gets hot. I need a higher end sub for my amp, but im limited on space. Best boom for the buck was Alpine again.
