Dislikes: a couple of the falls do not spill over very well, or not at all mainly the one on the right side of the fountain from the small pool that spills into the base pool. Likes: it's very large at 51-inches (4 feet 3-inches) tall. It is also very heavy, even moreso when filled with water and in operation. Which makes it very difficult for someone to pick it up and walk away with it. It takes 2 people just to unpack it, and set it up. It is also lighted in each basin that catches water from the falls, makes a very relaxing sound listening to the waterfalls as they spill over into their basins. As you see in my video, the water is tinted blue, I use a Pond Blue water tint that is non-toxic to animals and fish as my own cats drink from these fountains I have in my yard. Also, the blue tint highlights the waterfalls, especially at night when the lighting under the waterfalls light them up, making them easier to see both at night, and during the day. Unlike plain water which seems to disappear, especially after dark. Yes, I'd recommend this beautiful waterfall fountain. It's a beautiful accent to any garden or yard. I would not recommend using it indoors, as some of the waterfalls splash more than others. Unless you have a very large mat to place under and at least 2 feet around the perimeter of the fountain, then indoor use could be accomplished, but for best results, outdoor use is highly recomended. ... show more

Original Review: The fountain is well made and beautiful. It has a sizable water reservoir so hopefully I won’t have to add water but every few days. The sound of the water is perfect. However, the lighting VERY dim. From 5 feet away, the lights look good but from 30 feet it’s hard to even tell when the lights are on. That is disappointing for a fountain of this price range. I plan to keep the fountain but will probably look at options to upgrade the lighting. Update: I contacted the manufacture and they offered NO HELP AT ALL. So I will either figure out how to upgrade the lighting myself or return the fountain. It is SO FRUSTRATING because the fountain would be so nice if it just had decent lighting, but they are SO DIM that from a few feet away you you can't even tell if they are on. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. So far this is one is the most amazing purchases! We bought it for our sunroom. On the lowest fountain setting it splashes but on the highest, not much splashing. The sound is so relaxing and the fountain is beautiful! The ponds are deep and all the lights appear to work. We added about 15 gallons of water and there was room for more. It's heavy but manageable and easy to set up. We are so happy with purchase and might even get one for the yard. ... show more

    • Beautiful fountain that lasts for a few months before developing fatal leak

This is my 2nd fountain of this type. Both worked great for a few months and then developed a leak somewhere in the bottom. Water completely drains out and motor burned out within 24 hours of filling all the way. Very disappointing and complete waste of money! Do not buy this fountain from Alpine.

The “Alpine” TZL198 – 6 Tier “Rainforest” Fountain... Make no doubt about it, this large fountain by the Alpine Corp, (Commerce CA), is serious business. If you have a large chunk of property, a big lanai , big pool surround, or deck, this puppy is what’s needed. It is 51” tall and weighs in at around 100#. I also have a two foot high fountain that would positively get lost in the spot where this model is situated. The “rocks” and craftsmanship on this unit are very attractive and real looking. I would love to see how these things are produced! Bear in mind this model is comprised of six tiers and seven “falls”, something that you don’t encounter every day. Another consideration: the more “falls” your fountain contains, the more soothing the falling water is , (I absolutely love the Zen “music” produced!) Another pleasurable activity was the process of locating appropriate boulders and rocks to place on and around this yard water feature! Hopefully my plans for producing an “unboxing” of this fountain for YouTube in the future will come to fruition… stay tuned??? - UPDATE: Google or YouTube "LARGE outside water fountain unboxing" "Unboxing" video & instructions video is now available Check it out. The media could not be loaded. This fountain looks like real rock, yet it is very easy to install and move around. The waterfall transmits tranquil and soothing sound, it is very relaxing. We put it at our front yard, which has been transformed into a scenery spot and rest station. We received a lot of compliments from neighbors walking by. Alpine provides very prompt response and satisfying answers if you ever have any issues or questions about the product. Both the product and customer services are highly recommended!
