I used the pump to build a DIY floating fountain. I was able to find a 3" male threaded PVC adapter at Lowes that screwed right to the supplied adapter. The fountain works very well and moves a lot of water. I have the fountain set up on a timer and it runs 16 hours a day. So far it has been running a week.     • Adapter to make this work
This pump (10k) moves large volumes of water. Although plastic in construction, it seems durable; I just purchased 1 month ago so duration is unknown. Biggest issue was as many reviewed the coupling that comes with the pump is for 1/2” size pipes. My work around was to use a 4” to 2” rubber reducing coupling that I purchased at Lowes (similar to https://www.amazon.com/Fernco-P1056-42-Flexible-Coupling-4-Inch/dp/B000BPDGUU/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?crid=3O5KA93NZ01GQ&keywords=4+into+2+in+reducer&qid=1651351988&sprefix=4in+to+2+in+%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-16 I attached the 4” side to the outside of the largest part of the supplied coupling and tighten the hose clamp as tight as I could and it has been holding thus far. This is not ideal, because going directly to 2” reduces the flow rate and puts a lot of pressure on that rubber connector but it worked. If I could have found a 4” to 3” rubber connector I would have preferred to go with 3” pipe. ... show more

    • Where to find 2 1/2" adaptor!
I have seen a lot of reviews saying they could not find a fitting for the 10,300gph pump because it has a 2 1/2" output. You will find a female 2 1/2" adaptor at Lowe's or Home Depot in the conduit section. So, we went to both places and looked in the plumbing section. Even asked the workers there, and no one could help us. Then my husband had to an electrical job and needed some conduit (in the electrical section) and there the 2 1/2" female adaptor was. ... show more

I ordered a replacement for the one Ive had for several years but ended up not even needing it because I found a you tube video on how to clean the impeller, and I was able to do that and restore function! its a powerful pump. Ive had it running nonstop for 6 years without a problem till I had to clean it. I reccomend adding one of those mesh bags to help prevent it getting clogged with leaves. ... show more
