after about four months it stopped pumping. Pulled out of the pond and took it apart and found that the impeller had broken and pieces were blocking function. Took out broken pieces and put back in pond and it did start to work again. A month later checking pumps and found that the outlet portion of the housing had broken off. Now is completely nonfunctional. I had earlier indicated that these pumps were Ok at half the price but I need to amend that as four months function is no enough to offset the price.

This pump has amazing power. My complaint is you have to remove screws to move inlet pipe. Well has been running for about 3 weeks now...and keeps stopping. Sounds like bearings are shot already. I gotta get a new one before sending back. I hope no hassle.

I purchased three of these pumps over summer. The output is excellent and they are quite. However, these pumps need to be removed from the market for the plastic impellers all failed, the first within two weeks, the second within 48 hours, and the third within 24 hours of beginning operation. There was no operational error on my part. Apparently the rpm is too fast and the impellers crack and once a piece of the impeller plastic come off, the unbalanced pump fails. I contacted the customer service of the company and after two weeks of emails with a representative who needs more English lessons, their answer is they don’t sell impellers and others with this problem have tried to use other impellers. I have internet searched using the part number on the impellers and have been unsuccessful. If these had a properly constructed impeller the review would be 5 stars, but due to the impellers the review deserves zero stars.

Moves a lot of water, quickly. I added a ball valve to the outlet side and tapered down to 1". My aquarium is a 180 gallon reef ready and has two 1" overflow inlets. The pump actually moves more water than my overflow tubes will accept. Seems to operate fairly cool (again, it's internal so surrounded by water) and quiet. There is a hum but nothing unreasonable considering the gph.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this pump to make a DIY fountain for our 1/2 acre pond. It does not disappoint! I wanted something strong enough to have a good pattern coming out of the "nozzle" and it works great! This will be the 3rd season using it about 10-12 hrs per day from May to October. I would highly recommend this pump as it has exceeded my expectations.
