The first one I ordered runs for a few seconds but immediately seized while running clean water. The impeller wouldn't budge when I tried moving it with my finger. I received a replacement through Amazon. It works as expected and is very quiet and powerful. It seems to pump better than my previous pump of similar rating. I like that it can be mounted flat so that more of the motor can be submerged, which I think can prevent overheating in a low water situation. This pumps in my waterfall that has a 6-7' head, and the flow is great. I did place it is a seive bag for guarding against debris. This thing is a work horse. I would highly recommend this pump. I have a small pond where i use this and i have made some mistakes and beat this pump up and it is still going strong. on several occasions i have accidently run the pump with not enough water, the pump actually froze into the pond this winter it has also sucked in a ton of leaves and other debris. I didn't expect the pump to continue to work after the winter freeze but surprisingly it is still going. Comparable name brand pumps of the same size go for 10 times the price if you are in the market for a pond pump of this size give it a try for a fraction of the cost. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is a replacement for my 5 year old a Little Giant pump in a koi pond. The Vivosun is rated 3x more GPH but is less than 1/2 the price. The only hack that I had to do was to find an adapter from the hardware store that allowed me to use my own hose connector for my 1 1/4” hose. Once plugged in, the Vivosun water flow is powerful.
