The first one I ordered runs for a few seconds but immediately seized while running clean water. The impeller wouldn't budge when I tried moving it with my finger. I received a replacement through Amazon. It works as expected and is very quiet and powerful. It seems to pump better than my previous pump of similar rating. I like that it can be mounted flat so that more of the motor can be submerged, which I think can prevent overheating in a low water situation. This pumps in my waterfall that has a 6-7' head, and the flow is great. I did place it is a seive bag for guarding against debris. This thing is a work horse. I would highly recommend this pump. I have a small pond where i use this and i have made some mistakes and beat this pump up and it is still going strong. on several occasions i have accidently run the pump with not enough water, the pump actually froze into the pond this winter it has also sucked in a ton of leaves and other debris. I didn't expect the pump to continue to work after the winter freeze but surprisingly it is still going. Comparable name brand pumps of the same size go for 10 times the price if you are in the market for a pond pump of this size give it a try for a fraction of the cost. ... show more

    • The second one pump no good too scared too try another.

I bought this pump the first time in 2002. It lasted until 2021 it, worked great then it started to shut off. IT kept tripping the breaker so I bought another one, same style same kind it lasted only 3 months it will would SLOW down and trip the breaker. Is there a way to fix it?
